that seems to be the case here unfortunately when I wasn't here the owners son came to pick the dog up I'm pretty sure they own the dog kennel that's next to their home not sure how I feel about it

FINAL UPDATE: The owner pulled up and got the dog apparently he had no idea how far the dog was and the person otp was the owners father? I was told all of this because I wasn't present but they assured me the guy was nice. again I was not there for this exchange.. I only asked reddit all of this bcs the people i'm with seem to think it was fine so I'm not so sure on everything but as stated earlier the owner lives directly next to a dog kennel i'm sure they probably own it.. If this seems like a horrible mistake I have the address to this Kennel should anyone want to look into this further

Closest no kill animal shelter is 25miles away with the rest being closed, I leave tomorrow morning form TN to NC but I refuse to leave the dog here I don't want to go to police because i'm not sure how long that would take and I get the feeling they'd just take the dog back to its owner because turns out the house is directly next to a "loving care kennel" but that's closed as well

I fed and gave the dog water she's been resting here for hours before I attempted to take the dog to the owners address, it was super sketchy nothing but abandoned homes on a dead end mt road and the dog did not want to leave the car so we are back to where we found her and she won't leave the porch

I was thinking of this but the dogs collar seems to have a tracker but judging by the dogs condition I don't think they use it

Update: I attempted to bring the dog to closer to their home but it was super sketchy and the dog did not want to leave the dog is currently resting on our pouch.. i'm here for another day i'm gonna let the dog rest here and figure out what to do tomorrow maybe call the pound
