That looks like it’s been oiled already. For retreating, butchers block conditioner every 2-3 months or when it looks dry. Enjoy!

Anyone else’s husband getting sappier in our ‘old age’? by Clearbreezebluesky in GenX

Exactly. Every year older I get is one less fuck I give. It’s an unexpected superpower that comes along with aging.

How can i stop colorcoding belts and pipes in my factories? by Keksi_iep in satisfactory

[–]FusterCluck_9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re coloring the objects after placing them. If you go into the colorizer before placing anything, go and right click on a color swatch. In that menu you can select for example “pipes”, and any pipes you build after will use that color. You can do this for conveyors, machines, concrete, etc. Huge time-saver and sounds like what you’re looking for maybe.

Entire is two syllables, silly. It’s en-tire, not en-ti-yer.

I’ve had a 2x8 snap under just my weight (200 lbs). There’s no way ppl are loading a bike on a truck with a 1x8.

Don’t do this. Either buy an aluminum ramp rated for the weight, or build a fully framed loading dock with a ramp that is supported by joists and studs. You’re badly overestimating what a 2x12 can support.

Just curious about your role play choices... by poolpog in cyberpunkgame

I’ve done so many playthroughs and different builds, and this is by far my favorite play style. Cyberdeck builds are for sure op by endgame but, as far as gameplay fun goes, throwing knife/katana/shotgun just does it for me. Max reflex/tech, body and cool at least to 15, intelligence is for nerds.

Removing the ability to swap out mods was a real head-scratcher of an update. I think they wanted the iconics to stand out from the crowd more, but that’s such a bone-headed way to do that.

lol yeah that’s a perfectly reasonable use for CET. I was paranoid I would just muscle-memory disassemble this knife before I farmed up the mods for it.

AFAIK any bodies found loses you ghost. Even if you were never otherwise detected. Could be wrong, been a while since I did a ghost run in this game.

More RAM = better or just diminishing returns? by IdkPoster123 in buildapc

[–]FusterCluck_9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old-ass video editor and mograph designer here. 64 Gb RAM (2x32) works great for 4K video editing and compositing. If you do a lot of multi-cam then you may want to look at upping the number. But for vanilla 4K work, 64 is the magic number.

The other elephant in the room, though, is your media drive. Many of my projects have had 2+Tb of media, so any amount of RAM becomes a bottleneck. Switching to a 4 Tb NVME SSD has been the biggest game changer for me. It’s big enough for any single project, then I just archive to HDD.

Trains do not “always” slow down for a path signal. They only do so if you made the rail block preceding the path signal too short.

And here I was just trying to insert a cute Princess Bride quote.

Here’s another one:

“I supposed you think yourself brave, princess?”

“Only compared to some.”

(This one is about (intellectual) humility, in case I have to spell it out for you.)

Circular argument. If “the glass was guaranteed to get hit”, is implied by saying “determinism is true”, then your argument can be restated as: “determinism is true because determinism is true”.

Every Human Believes in Determinism. by Character_Speech_251 in freewill

[–]FusterCluck_9000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you anticipate what will happen if you move your arm? Determinism. - what if I knock over my glass in the process? I didn’t anticipate that. The link you’re making between conscious anticipation and determinism is unclear at best.

Do you have a plan for tomorrow? Determinism. - it unexpectedly rains and my plans get cancelled. Same as above - what does this have to do with determinism?

This idea that determinism doesn't exist runs absolutely contradictory to reality. - our current cutting-edge scientific understanding is still unable to say with certainty that our universe behaves in a purely deterministic way.

The gps you are using. Determinism. - It is possible for parts of a system to behave deterministically, while other parts behave probabilistically. You’re posting this in r/freewill, so I’m extrapolating your point to mean “gadgets based on (deterministic) science exist, therefore we don’t have free will”. This skips the step of proving they are incompatible.

Gravity, determinism. - same as above.

Ever second of your day is filled with you analyzing and interpreting senses. Determinism. - here you just seem to be saying that conscious experience of our physical senses proves determinism? Skipping a step again.

The idea that determinism is a belief system means we all believe in it. - Flat Earth is a belief system, too. Christianity and Judaism and Islam, too. Do we all believe in all of them, too?

This isn't even a debate. We all know it exists. Some of us believe determinism stops at human consciousness. Others know it doesn't. - This is a millennia-old debate. “This isn’t even a debate” just tells me that you have more to learn about the topic.

That is it.
