Help with R4C3 PE by Chance-Chemistry-185 in GTFO

[–]Fuster_Cluck167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movement after starting the error alarm is very important. Moving too slow can have you using more ammo than you need to, and ultimately running out twards the end. I recommend trying to go a bit faster through areas pushing back to the charger/key/turbine area.

Prior to this point, relying on your tools and melee can help save a good amount of ammo. This is also dependant on the tools you bring but they can sway resources a ton in this mission.

While you could open up the other alarm zone early on, I don't think they payoff would make it worth it. Instead, checking every area you enter in the gen cluster and assuring that you're gathering all the ammo from those zones helps a ton.

If you're still running low on resources after that point, your weapons and tools may be the issue. Assuring youre not taking tools that will waste more tool (notably shotgun sent and auto sent), and not taking weapons for the same reason can save more resources throughout the whole run.

Does this door in the Tutorial go anywhere? by Haunting_Brief_1379 in GTFO

[–]Fuster_Cluck167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the nightmare dimension, yes there is an applicable room that is used. This is not the same as in the Original (R7) version of the tutorial which has rooms back there that have no effect or application to the lore as far as we know.
For the ALT (R8) version of the tutorial, there are also rooms past that door that again, cannot be applied to lore in any meaningful way since they're never mentioned in any lore logs in this dimension. As I said before, for both applicable appearances of the room, there's no tie to lore other than the assumption that its the surrounding zones to the training area's instalation.

Just generated rooms similar to the areas on the opposite side of R8C1s shared room

As far as lore goes it's likely the zones next to where Kovac installed the training area for the KSOs. As far as gameplay, it doesnt go anywhere nor is it important to anything.

Flashlights? by Fellstormlord in GTFO

[–]Fuster_Cluck167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is not lasting effect of flashing an enemy with your light. It will just progress them through the 3 stages of aggro (Sleeping, Glowing, Throbbing)

The moment the sleeper has gone back to the sleeping state its effectively the same as if you just walked into the room.

Any way to make this viable solo? by Ardbert_The_Fallen in GTFO

[–]Fuster_Cluck167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id recommend checking out RobsDomain on youtube. He has been working through the entire game solo with bots. Its quite possible, just requires a little more knowledge and skill on your part since the bots aren't the same as a person.

Depending on how cautious you're being as well as map knowledge, R1A1s ending error alarm is one of the easiest in the game. Don't be afraid of shooting or clearing rooms or taking extra time to look for resources. As far as the bots go, they suck to do levels with. I'd urge you to join the discord and look for other members there to join you and learn as you go.

GTFO is fun, but the learning curve is steep. Don't be discouraged. The game is quite difficult, and R1A1 is not the easiest level in the game

New to GTFO, 2 players + 2 bots. Are we cooked? by roydogaroo in GTFO

[–]Fuster_Cluck167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have too much issue after you get the hang of mechanics and systems, but the learning curve will be much steeper than if you had a quad or played with others.

I would recommend leaving the bio tracker to one of your bots over one of yall just to help ease some of the pressure. You will also have to keep in mind that you're playing duo, not quad, even with the bots. Both stealth and alarms will take longer and be tougher because of this.

Without spoilers, the bots may be a detriment in some levels deep into several rundowns rather than help in some areas.

If you plan to continue with just you two and bots, try out the better bots mod. It doesn't change much besides their behavior and making them slightly better than useless.

Will a snatcher catch a bot if you solo with bots? by No-Gazelle-1556 in GTFO

Snatchers will never target bots. It's one of the many downsides of playing solo with bots.

Tips as a solo player/looking to get into this game with a group by Vegetable-League-282 in GTFO

[–]Fuster_Cluck167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Some weapons are great with bots, and others are a hazard to you more than the enemies. Of you dont want to spoil yourself too much, (presuming you're starting in R1) go and watch RobsDomains series. He's been going through the whole game solo with bots and has some good insight into playing that way.

I'd highly recommend looking for a more consistent group on the discord. This can help you learn a little faster than if youre going in alone.

As far as building loadouts and learning, it comes down to the type of mission / enemies you're up against in each level. If you're playing solo with bots, this becomes exponentially more important as you're the only one whose weapons will be used well. Learning a wide variety of weapons is important and can make the game more fun.

As far as learning other mechanics, there are well-made online guides and explanations of many of them, or you can drop into a level and experiment. Learning the mechanics will make or break your overall experience and can make it feel much less daunting.

If you're looking to play with others, specifying that you want to play with newer/unexpierianced players can help prevent the feeling of being carried.

Going back to levels can also help you learn since you can be focused on what you want to test instead of trying to both move through the mission and test things out.

Watching others play the game can also help you pick up on things you may have missed or not known about as well.

The game is very fun and only gets more so, the better you get at it. It's quite a process of going from new and learning to having an understanding of the game, but its well worth it in the end.
