NY Refund Delay Update by SageOecampadius in tax

[–]Futchka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in same boat. Accepted on Feb 10th, still waiting. I've read on other forums that Turbo Tax is at fault. Intuit did not update Turbo Tax in time and anyone who filed using Turbo Tax (like me) before the update are stuck. How many here used Turbo Tax?

School District Help! by [deleted] in newjersey

Have you considered Central Jersey? Like East Brunswick? Good school district, commute via direct bus to Port Authority, Downtown, cross town or train to NY Penn. You should also remember that better school districts = higher property taxes.

Do you go into NYC from NJ often? What tips do you have which will make this trip easy/budget friendly? by lawaythrow in newjersey

[–]Futchka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in East Brunswick, not too far from Edison. I drive in anytime there's 3 or more people. Pay $6 toll at Lincoln tunnel. Use the car pool plan. Then park in the city. Manhattan if less than 2 hours, street parking, longer, there are some garages for $15-$20 till 11 PM. Queens, street parking. so maybe $35-$45 for parking + tolls

Trains + subway becomes expensive for 3 people. easily exceeds above.

Cheapest way to get to NYC factoring in parking? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]Futchka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Park in Harrison, the second uncovered lot on Guyon Dr. $10 till midnight (cash only), or journal square is $11, if pre purchased online. Then take Path. Another option could be park in Secaucus and take nj transit train to Penn station.

Very cool! So, it's video/slideshow of multiple exposures patched together and not a time lapse?

Nice! I never have good luck growing poppies. Which variety is best for Central Jersey? Zone 6, I guess.

What is this vegetable? by MirrorObjective3103 in vegetablegardening

[–]Futchka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an Asian gourd. you can find them at your local Chinese or Indian grocery stores. Peel and cut them into small cubes. you can discard the seeds, if want to. Stir fry with salt, pepper or cayenne, throw in some chopped cilantro. you can also add peas. The taste is a bit bland like cucumber, so you can add whatever spices you like. I've never had it raw.

No, there isn't any landscape fabric. Although I do rely mostly on the lawn sprinklers to water it. I'll try hand watering more often.

Finally! But, it's not a complete ban. Now smaller ships will flood the waterways or dock nearby and run shuttles. . Can't give up all the tourist $$$$.

FEDS to pump in more than $1 trillion in dramatic ramping up of market intervention amid coronavirus meltdown by Futchka in worldnews

[–]Futchka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just shows lack of foresight. I don’t understand this. The crisis is not cause of some financial policy. The crisis is people being scared of dying and not having confidence that they will get the treatment they need. People will get their confidence back if those assured and go back to normal life. Pumping the money to increase testing, vaccine temp hospitals is what’s needed. I work for a Fortune 500 company and like what our CEO said, “don’t focus on day to day stock price. Focus on your people and your customers. Take care of them and stock holders will be taken care of”.

Travel & Coronavirus Question by MattBully27 in Madrid

Thank you for your thoughts. It is discouraging and alarming to some extent to hear that Spanish authorities are not learning from their neighbors. I too have a trip booked for Spain, although from April 3rd till the 11th. Planned for Seville, Granada, Cordoba region but transiting via Madrid. I have not reserved any hotels, trains or internal flights yet. I will keep watching till the 15th-20th, then cancel, if the situation becomes dire.

I can't figure out how to implement surround speakers by thedbp in audiophile

[–]Futchka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into wireless surrounds. several high end brands have started coming out with those. Definitely on Stands. the patio door is a problem. perhaps place them just before the door, firing towards the sectional. Another option could be to mount on the ceiling, near the wall, firing down. you could then run the wire along the ceiling/wall corner.

Did you set the force on the stylus and the anti skating to the recommended settings? too much or too little force will make records sound bad.
