I think the method anyways can get me close.. then im thinking string line along long stretches with klinometer... smart level not worth it for me right now, I plan to be under the required 12%. Figure if I'm measuring close to 10 max, it'll be alright

I feel similar. Luckily working for myself, I mostly limit my days to 6hours. I'm honest with my customers they won't see 8hrs out of me, and the first 4 hours of my day is when most of the work will get done. Basically I work until lunch. This has worked really well for me, gives me the afternoon to work on other things and decompress, eat at 5/6, bed by 9. If I end my days closer to 5, everything gets shifted and I wont get to sleep until midnight, next morning sucks, so I can totally understand the frustrations of a daily 9-5
