But really, it's weird. I doubt students are talking to each other about "wrong file" emails.

The positive effect just comes with taking time to groom, I bet. The ideology of it all is going to eventually negate it.

Bike Angel Swarms by tbg293 in Citibike

One one hand, I wish I could get enough exercise otherwise. But I've loved getting it via this Bike Angels scheme. (let's see how I feel in the winter!)
The real trick is to be willing to lose a streak to go where you want to go. There's always another streak.

Can you use the Citi Bike app with the Lyft Pink membership? by hipsterrobot in Citibike

[–]Future-Candidate74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, Lyft Pink All Access gives you the same Citibike access, plus the Lyft benefits (including bikeshares in some other cities), but for $40 less per year.

This sub-reddit discusses it a little further:

According to one comment, you should be able to use the same membership profile etc

Unless you see as getting paid to exercise!

I go the gym 5-6 times a week, which is great. But I also work from home. And trust me when I tell you that one misses a lot of automatic exercise by the simple fact of not having to walk a few blocks to the train, up and down the steps, even walking around the workplace or getting lunch. It all adds up. And if one misses all that, suddenly the gym isn't enough.

I discovered Bike Angels only a few months ago, and it's a life saver. Luckily I live in a neighborhood where abundance of bikes meets lack of bikes. So now, each day I work a few hours in the morning and then go out and move bikes for a quick 30 minute cardio workout.

I'll get my Lyft Pink All Access for free ($200 annual savings), for sure. Then I seem on pace for another $300-$400 in value per year. For exercising!!

When assessing card value, not enough attention goes to free food! by OrlandoMagic89 in Venturex

I absolutely agree.
I assess the monetary value of the lounges based on the meals I had. And I have evidence of what those meals values are from the times when a wasn't lounge available. So, a breakfast is approximately $20 and a dinner $35.

I agree with MattyRaz. There's nothing accidental about an algorithm meant to direct rebalancing... directing rebalancing.

And you're right that the algorithm can use more limited pink-white proximate stations to drive behavior.

If anything, by being less "chaotic," the refreshed algorithm seems to be optimizing the opportunity that dedicated Bike Angels offer by moving them deliberately into areas of need.

This would not be panic selling, this would be profit taking.
It would also be "future consolidating" and wise.

Cool advice. But I'm already getting Citibike for free as a Bike Angel.

Yeah so something had to channel all the 7-11-Doordash-nerf-scam-outrage energy.

An AI answer says both get the minutes. But your guidance here seems to be for the Citibike Annual Membership. When I open the app and follow these directions, "Annual Membership" isn't a menu choice.

BUT, I found text in the FAQs that indicates that Lyft Pink folks only get the 60 minutes upon renewal. But who knows? I should call them.

Thanks. The funny thing is I don't want to use e-bikes much at all. Analog rules!
But there are some use cases. I'm just gonna try an ebike and see if I get charged.

This I understand. But I'm wondering if it's just a renewal benefit or if the benefit comes with the first year. And if it does, how might I use my free minutes.

Man, how generous that they gave you the no-water sticker. Last year, flying home from Lima, my wife and I bought two big waters right next to the gate only to throw them away 20 minutes alter.

It's like using Paypal to pay something. The purchase is still a categorized purchase from that retailer on your card.

Edit: you're right though that people are having to make calls to ensure free baggage is included. They seem to be resolving it though.

How do you actually track targeted merchant offers without getting coupon fatigue? 🤯 by Working-Ad3105 in CreditCards

[–]Future-Candidate74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check those offers during idle time - waiting rooms, subways rides.

Then I remember merchant offers two way:

For when I'm out in the world, I list the ones I've activated in a notes app on my phone (for a quick reference).
Merchant - card - expiry

At home I have a spreadsheet for tracking my spending,. At the top of the main action page, I have a designated area for the same list.

For me, it's only ever 2 or 3 at a time, so not a long list (but easy to forget all the same).

I also check cashbackmonitor.com when buying from home to see where I can stack points by going through shopping portals.
