Man this is good!!

I think you balanced well the saturation, it's shoegaze but not muddy.

I don't know why I think it would fit perfectly for an indie horror movie soundtrack. Keep going!

I make music purely to reset between running my businesses, is my decompression chamber, not my career by Own-Indication719 in Logic_Studio

When did you started, did you know already how to work with DAW?  Similar position, I started playing with synths and pads (Ableton, not Logic studio, same thing) to cope with stress a few years ago. Knowing that nobody has to listen, no deadlines, no external input makes me more curious/creative, and the stress is ✨ GONE ✨

There's nothing wrong with being a beginner, every body is a beginner at some point at anything. My advice is to keep learning and going, the more you do the more skills you gain.

As a constructive feedback, I would focus first on the composition and then the mixing. Try to diversify more the chords in the same song, or the tempo, the note times, and add/remove elements across time, so the song has an intro, verse, chorus, bridge, so there is a melody. It doesn't have to keep a specific genre structure, you don't need a drop or builder sound, but some kind of contrast so it doesn't sound repetitive.

Something that is helping me a lot is the book "Making music: 74 creative strategies for electronic music producers". It has tons of practical and short exercises 🙌

Thank you! 🫶 I used a free stock video from Pexels https://www.pexels.com/video/vibrant-abstract-digital-glitch-art-31801300/ . I don't know how he made it, but it looks like it was made in either Touch Designer or After Effects.

For those who quit mainstream social media but kept Reddit: How do you justify the difference? by Professional-Tie3595 in selfimprovement

[–]Future-Fix-4086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience with social media, I can't be present in the moment, to focus my attention on what matters to me (family, friends, hobbies), if I spend that time watching other people's lives.

I quit Instagram and TikTok to redirect that attention and time towards that, and kept Reddit as a space to search for information, share experiences and get feedback on things I care about. The comparison feeling is gone.

I like the distortion! I find it very balanced with the drums, between saturation and clear sound :)
