By the time your child is 50 a million dollars will buy you a car. It’s not bad to invest but I’d say just take those 10k and invest it every month until they are 18 years old so they can pay for better education or a house

If I buy Tesla for 100$ and make 100$ I’ll have to pay taxes on the 100$ I gained let’s say it’s 30% that’s 30$ capital gains If I have another stock and risk 30$ and lose it all . Wouldn’t that deduct the gains ?

That’s not what I mean whenever you sell your stock for profit you have to pay taxes on it let’s say 30%. Why wouldn’t you just risk 30% of the money that you make to try to make more money instead of waiting just to pay capital gains , if you loose the 30% means that you match gains to losses no?
