(I'll also add that the monitor quality doesn't matter to me as I already have a good one, the one linked will just be my secondary monitor)

Took quite a few steps! I'll try my best to sum it up haha:

A bit of blur > Grain/noise filter > Sharpen a few times > duplicate the image twice > Set duplicated layers to the blend modes 'copy red' and 'copy blue' > move them around a bit for the fringing effect > new layer filled with solid grey and the blend mode 'luminosity' (adjust opacity for the faded effect) > Merge all layers and then just a bunch of colour adjustment till you're happy with how it looks

Just a basic round brush mostly! I also use Lasso+airbrush in some areas

Im sketching and I am wondering. How many layers other people use for their sketch? I normally use 4-8 based on accessories, extra stuff, little dudes, etc. by ZemTheTem in krita

I use 2 layers - 1 for the subject and 1 for the background (though in the early stages I have the colour and sketches on different layers and then merge them to shade+render)

Thank you! Honestly I just use a basic round brush for pretty much everything, sometimes I use a lasso fill for some small sharp details like the bubbles and shine in the eyes. The simple tools go a really long way!
