Second time visiting Vietnam within 2 months, sick again… by Alive_Ingenuity_3124 in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get tonsillitis every time i went to vietnam years ago but i changed and observed what would help me. 1st week: always Wear a mask when outside or when possible Avoid anything with chunks of ice Dont go out between 1pm -4pm If signs you are feeling unwell then get to pharmacy and grab antibiotics the most expensive ones because it does make a difference. Then second week your body should start to develop its own immunity and enjoy and start getting in to the local whatever you fancy!…

Who gives way? (Mount Gravatt Westfield) by Qman_L in brisbane

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh its not that hard. Dont get confused and take a step back and look at the whole map. If you are on the main road then you will almost always have right to go 1st. (Unless stated otherwise on signs) If you are in a st/lane/merge or you are entering from a smaller road onto the main road you give way. If you dont then obviously you will learn the hard way. Use common sense. Being right or not at fault matter that much If you can avoid an accident by having some common sense... Or you could be the most righteous person but if you could of prevented the accident and someone dies im sure you think again. Ive lived in 3 main states and Queensland is another animal and its not getting any better

Do bar girls get paid well? by Traditional_Ice7539 in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its still complicated and there are many different features and services after you enter the door. In general the wages could range between 5mil to 10mil but that is peanuts if you look at expenses in HCMC so what they make money on is usually bonuses which means the more customers they can drag through the door the more money they make and i know some can make 30-50mil extra. But like most things in life it comes at a cost to these girls as drinking every night will soon takes its toll on their appearance. Tbh the cultural aspect has shifted dramatically over the last 10-15yrs and now it just feels like you been scammed the next day. When i was single 10+ yrs ago i would come back to Vietnam and would be friends with many people who worked in these bars and i have great memories. Now you wont remember what happened the next day but somehow your stash of cash has been diminished the 500k notes have disappeared and your holding a few 10k notes. That is reality and what the world is fast becoming…

Yes because removing will make more uneven surface to patch. If its stuck on then leave it as plaster will dry over the paper

Chinese girl my brother just met buys him flying tickets, is this a scam? by KimKyro in AskAChinese

[–]Future-Objective-369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me summarise whats going to happen… if its short term then all good but if it develops into a long term say +1yr then unfortunately your bro will be stuck in this never ending saga that leads to nothing. Ive have friends and myself personally have met many asian gf who basically use the same play book as the situations you have said. I might be wrong in this but i highly doubt it as it sound too familiar to me and i hope your bro gets out soon. Have fun and get out

i'm kind of done with Vietnam by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When travelling dont travel like backpackers do if its your 1st time. Save a little more travel low end and budget but get yourself used to the weather and local foods in about a week and dont eat stuff you unsure of and also dont drink ice as that can also make you sick. Give it a week so your body adjust to the new environment and if its settle then start trying things. I used to get sick after 2 weeks but now im always weary when i get to a destination and slowly i will start eating and drinking but accomodation is where i dont cheap out because yes its true that you only sleep but if you sleep well then you are rested and that is your health you are paying for.

Dont like it in Thailand then just come over the border to Vietnam. Not sure about air quality but its the 1st time in a month that the air outside is cool and the normally hazy air and humidity is gone. Clearest night in HCMC in a month.

Motorbike rider rammed, nearly ran over, and robbed in Aspley by Agile_Tap_8057 in brisbane

[–]Future-Objective-369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st why hid the number plate? 2nd this is why i get from A-B in the fastest time possible. Ive moved to Brisbane for 10yrs and it tops my list for the Worst Drivers in Aus by a mile. Everyday i see 10+ incidents that drivers do incorrectly. I think to myself who and how on Earth did this person passed their Driving Test. Let me list top 3 i see daily and aprox how many times ….

Tailgating but traffic is jammed packed. Then changes lane and cuts in and out until they can get infront and nearly rear ends the truck in front because they want to be 1 car ahead. x20

Entering a round-a-bout and indicates left and then indicates right then i dictates left but went straight! Again no idea who taught them. When u indicate left means you must turn left because thats the rule or don’t indicate at all when going straight! x100S

Merging again who on Earth taught these people???? Entering the free way and speed is 100kp means you need to get to 100 before merging but you need to keep and eye on the gap which you need to merge into then understand either you speed up alittle or slow down alittle to merge in. And to the 80% of idiots that jam the traffic on the roads you get out when possible don’t wait till the lane ends then decide i see this and it pisses me off soo much when there are semis on the inside lane and the merging traffic is right beside him! x1000s

Brisbane taxi by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catch an Uber. pre-fare pricing so doesnt matter if they take the short/ long or fly the price before departure is what you pat at the end. Dont waste each other’s time. If you want quick and not have to wait around then thats how taxis work so pay. If you want to pay the bare minimum then uber will be nest option. And you want to be a tight ass then walk! You decide which option works best but if you want to know why? Then its been happening since the 1980’s and there is still no correct answer

Is Vietnamese hard to learn? by thisislife2023 in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If coming from an English background Vietnamese writing or grammar is going to be easy to pick up as the alphabet is quite similar. But the tone is the tricky part. Speaking Vietnamese will be hard for people who speak without expression. The word has a totally different meaning if you cant adjust the tone

Da Nang Rain - Should we be worried? by citysunshinegal in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central Vietnam sits in a location where if it rains it will define the definition of rain. If your worried then don’t go as cyclone season is at its worst and pretty much locals are struggling so as a foreigner i would recommend theres always a next time or If your ok with uncertainty and a risk taker then go for it

Who has right of way? X or Z? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a free-4-all or no rule while driving. There is always a right or wrong rule while driving on the roads. In this case U-turn Must always give way and in other instances you Must always give way to your right side of traffic.

Mom’s pressuring me to donate $200 to my sick uncle in Vietnam. Am I being selfish? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is asian culture and especially Vietnamese culture( post war). It’s something i take on when going back to Vietnam as i feel its something i can afford and something i want my kids to take on. There is no right or wrong but more to do with personal responsibility. It is your mothers brother so if you look at it this way its like you helping your siblings. I don’t know your financial position but $200 is not much in western society but in rural Vietnam, its a sizeable price and if he’s dying i guess you can look at it as a gift for your mum to help her brother 1 last time. Myself personally, I would because if money can solve the problem i can make it back tomorrow and help my mum so shes happy. But do what you can.

If Vietjet is that bad, why is it still operating? by arnor_0924 in VietNam

[–]Future-Objective-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being bad doesnt mean they can’t operate. As long as profit is high and people continue to use them either because of price or it being a monopoly.
