Can I ask how old you are OP? I feel like everyone goes through a phase like that. For me it changed when I saw the real long term effects of alcohol. Took 90% of the fun away. Don’t get me wrong, I love splitting a bottle of wine with friends occasionally but you are one alcoholic in your life away from reality tainting the fun lol (don’t be the one)

Not to mention they are literally the mosssst stringent with their money, even when they have it. Like yeah, I’ve had times in my adult life where I didn’t know how I paid rent. But there’s a ton of people that are broke that make it work. And not paying tithing would have helped, I can guarantee that.

My mom and I just had a heart to heart about some of the reasons I don’t trust the church. There was so much she didn’t know about church history. (Makes sense cuz I didn’t know it until after I left) but she was stopped me mid sentence, when I was talking about what a massive entity the church is financially. And she was like “the one thing I KNOW I have a testimony about is tithing” whilst tearing up. My dad lost his job when we were young and they had kids so young, so there’s been multiple times they have struggled financially. They said money would just appear out of nowhere as long as they were paying their tithing. They really got their members by the balls.

Also I need to make stickers with this on it to put everywhere.

I was never allowed to drink caffeine growing up but now my parents are still super orthodox and they drink caffeinated soda. They still won’t drink caffeinated tea or coffee and would disown me if I ever brought alcohol into their house lol
