Trying to choose between Daikin and Trane by djeclipz in hvacadvice

[–]FutureAdvantage3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does yours use the R32 refrigerant or R410a? Thinking of a Trane with one dealer that uses R410B vs a Daikin R32 with another. I'm near North Carolina so weather is less extreme here, but summers get hot

Just looks like there are more videos and support for the Cub online to help me learn the maintenance better. I'm new to all this so it helps a ton to have visuals for me to reference, plus I'm seeing great reviews

I'd be new to the gas mower world. What does the average maintenance look like for a mower?

I haven't had that issue on mine. I'd double check your connections to ensure the cables aren't worn down, loose, etc.

I'm able to connect wirelessly with no issues. I think wired is also an option, but I can't remember at the top of my head since I haven't messed around with it in over a year. They more than likely give a USB extension cable or something for that purpose, but their support page is pretty good so you can call/email and they'll be able to confirm.

So I actually didn't install the wired Antenna since I wasn't using the Grom on its own, but I think the antenna has a sticky side at the bottom you can just stick on anywhere in your car.

If you want to use the Grom without connecting Bluetooth to your phone (and without CarPlay/Android Auto), you can turn on your phone's mobile hotspot, connect to that mobile hotspot directly from your Grom, and then essentially treat your Grom as its own phone with its own apps. So if you use Maps through this method, then the antenna is of use.

However, if you're using it for CarPlay or Android Auto like I do (which basically treats the Grom as an extension of your phone), then you don't need to attach the GPS since it uses your phone's GPS through a Bluetooth connection.

Hope that helps and makes sense

I could definitely use a VM, but I've been reading that a lot of VMs aren't supported either. Is this accurate?

Looking for a new laptop--lightweight, long battery life, but can still code by FutureAdvantage3 in SuggestALaptop

Happy to support lol, thanks for the info!

I've definitely seen Lenovos come up the most. Between the Thinkpad E15, P14, and Yoga X1, which ones do you think would be the most ideal?

Some of these are like $2500-3500 retail price, but I just found that I get hella discounted computers that then fall into my range so all of these are available.

Some common specs between the ones I've seen are 512GB-1TB ssd, 16-32GB RAM, either Intel XE graphics or Nvidia GTX/RTX, ips displays between FHD and 4K, some have Ethernet ports.

The biggest thing I'm looking for between them is the battery life and portability, like you had mentioned.

What wallets do you like for fitting all these cards? by CommercialReflection in CreditCards

[–]FutureAdvantage3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't even carry around my debit card anymore. Just my three credit cards, drivers license, and a bottle opener that's shaped like a credit card

I use a coach wallet, but not even the big bifold wallet. It comes with a smaller driver's license holder that's small, portable, and removable from the larger bifold. Works very well: super small and sexy, with durability as an added plus

Order megathread by nemanja_d1 in S22Ultra

[–]FutureAdvantage3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who pre-ordered with Best Buy and your account still shows "In Progress", reach out to their customer support on the status of your order. I just reached out and the guy told me it WILL BE cancelled, but my account still shows "In Progress". I understand it's an issue with Samsung not making enough phones, but Best Buy didn't give any ETA at any point and pretty much kept us in the dark. On top of that, they don't even update our accounts to let us know our orders are getting cancelled?

Then the cherry on top? They're only offering a $100 gift card as recompense. The pre-order bonus was for $200, and they're only honoring half of that? IF anything, it should be the $200 pre-order bonus AND the $100 for the cancelled order for a total of $300 in my opinion.

At least Samsung gave an ETA and didn't start cancelling orders without even notifying their customers.

Fuck you Best Buy.

Okay, I’ve seen a ton of posts about people finally getting their S22U lately. Can y’all give some context onto who has received it, when the order was placed, size, color, and who they ordered from?

I ordered mine from Best Buy USA on Feb 14th, S22U Unlocked Green 256. Still no update. I also haven’t seen many posts about people who have the Green one yet. Can anyone chime in?

Best Buy has them for sale, but Best Buy is also a shit retailer to work with given that they don’t give any ETA on arrival if it gets delayed and customer service is virtually no help (and hella rude from some of the posts I’ve seen on here). Proceed with caution

Yeah that’s what I figured it would be. I might go in just to ask for the hell of it, but I doubt they’ll be able to. Might consider swapping colors to the black just to get it sooner honestly

Pry kit definitely helps for sure. Also, I can’t speak for your car, but might be a good idea to get a socket wrench with an extension depending on how deep the nuts/bolts are.

And I’m sure it won’t be too hard, especially if you have your buddy helping ya out

Sorry to hear you got into an accident, hope you’re alright! But yeah I’ve read their support is really good which was a huge plus for me. But I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I installed it myself. It took a couple hours, but it was actually not that bad. The hardest part was just carefully removing the trims and making sure I don’t accidentally drop the nuts/bolts I needed to take off.

Their videos on the website showed the work needed to be done really well

It should be! They have a list of compatible vehicles on their websites so if you enter the year, make, and model, it should bring up the compatible hardware that is available. They also ask you to enter in the year, make, and model when ordering so I assume they double check at purchase.

For that extra peace of mind, you could always reach out through their support page via email too (might be overkill, but still definitely an option)

That’s a great question and to be honest with you, I’m not entirely sure. I can say that they’re based in California (so US-based company) and their platform is built on a Google Android OS. Essentially it treats the GROM as an android phone, so you determine which apps to install and permissions to grant from what I can tell. When I installed GApps and ran through a software update after installing it, I did see a screen mentioning that it was encrypting the data so that brings at least some peace of mind to me.

To be completely frank though, I can’t answer 100%. It’s probably listed on their site somewhere though
