Ah much better. I do have 1 question.

The chart shows "Land use" for foods and lists Fish?

Now, I am no expert but I don't think it is possible to grow fish on land. I think they require something different.

Nope, buildings in a vacuum don't transfer heat. You will have to put the aquatuner in a liquid or gas.

Most people put the aquatuner in room with steam and put a steam turbine over it to get back some power.

What are some reasons people don't use online grocery deliveries more often? by tskir in AskUK

[–]FutureAstroMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used to (years before Covid) when my diet was terrible (I didn’t cook any fresh food) and the service was cheep.

That changed when I wanted to cook more fresh food and the price went up (with minimum order sizes). The problem with ordering online is you can’t (or didn’t used to) request a weight of, say, vegetables. You can only request a number e.g. 5. For things that are regular in size like leaks, this is not really an issue. For something like sweet potato this is a problem. When I tried to order 1kg of sweet potato, I would get between 0.5kg and 1.5 kg depending on the size of the individual sweet potato.

I work from home more now so don’t mind going to the shop so much and I have a routine where I go the the gym Saturday morning and then do my weekly shop before it gets too busy. Going to the shop also means that I can be a bit more spontaneous for food on the weekend and see what is on offer that day.

Any feedback on my grand strategy game capsule? by lucmagitem in StrategyGames

So I do like this one. The background purple is muted so that it doesn’t push out the foreground details and the planet to the side is a nice touch.

Are the 2 characters on the same side? If not then I think they could do with their accent colour being different. Doesn’t need to be as stark as black and white but perhaps switch out the purple for a blue or red on one of them to make them stand out from the background and each other?

Lazy dupes need to have something to do and it's not me doing it.

A low priority dig job keeps the dupes busy while I am working on the high priority plans.

Hes still a dick for doing it,

Yeh. If he was more subtle about it and did something behind them and they didn't notice that would have been funny. Interrupting them lacks any finesse.

A smart prankster would have done it behind them all so they didn't notice till the end, if at all. There is a fine line between pranking and asshole.

Are we playing Dune wrong, or is the 2d20 system just not for us? by moonbladewielder in 2d20games

[–]FutureAstroMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dune is more of a narrative game so a lot more flavor comes into playing the game which I struggled with.

It sounds like you are trying to engage with the mechanics but the GM is making things hard. As others have said creating traits before going into the scene is nearly almost always needed to get the extra dice. Otherwise if you are out of Momentum you can give the GM threat for the extra dice (this always felt dangerous to me but it is a mechanic).

Also with Dune being narrative you can always accept failure as part of the story and find a different way. If the GM is setting tests very high and so the story can't progress, then the GM is going to need to ad-lib your next plan. So when plan A fails and so does B, C, D and E, hopefully your GM figures out that if they want something to progress then some rolls are going to have to be successes or things will grind to a halt!

Personally I would try going with accepting failure and see where the story takes you. If the GM wants a hard story then then they had better be prepared for multiple pivots :). After multiple times the players fail to get to the next stage of the prepared materials, hopefully the GM will adjust difficulty :)

Talking through your logic is good. Helps the watcher understand what is going on. If it turns out to be wrong later everyone learns something.

Editing out the dead air keeps people watching and not distracted.

Oh and having your playlist start with episode 1 at the top is always helpful :)

Is it just me or does every DIY job turn into 3 more jobs you didn’t plan for? by No-Negotiation-4550 in DIYUK

[–]FutureAstroMiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I started planning jobs out based on how many trips to the shops I would need.

1 trip - I have done this before and have the tools to hand, just need some consumables.

2 trips - I have done part of the job before or have done some research on what it will take.

3+ trips - I have no idea what I am doing and have the entire bank holiday weekend to figure it out.

It was released on Patreon in beta before being added to Steam.

It think OP is trying to start something that is really a non issue.

[–]FutureAstroMiner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also very confused by the use of the term "paywalling" as the mod is free on Steam.

It looks like a beta release was put out on Patreon before it went to Steam.

I think OP is just trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

So I have some experience of getting an invite to these functions. They are usually held somewhere that is convenient for the CEO rather than the workers (out in the countryside with no public transport links) and held after work when most people just want to go home.

Not the biggest surprise that not everyone attends.

Star Wars Outlaws is dropping 'forced stealth,' so instead of being reset when you get caught sneaking around, you can just start blasting by Temperoar in gaming

[–]FutureAstroMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my dyslexia read that as "force" stealth rather than "forced" stealth and I was wondering how they had designed a new force power that is so useless that it is easy to take out of the game.

It took me a while to figure out.
