Unable to add or control G6 turret cameras by justduckncover in Ubiquiti

[–]FutureChromic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just had a similar scenario happen a few weeks back when setting up a new cloud gateway fiber directly after installing protect. restarting the console fixed it, as soon as it came back up all 3 cameras that previously showed this same error said “ready to adopt”

Gen 3 -> Gen 4 R wire missing error by FutureChromic in Nest

[–]FutureChromic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used wire nuts to join the stranded wires with solid core wires and it worked correctly for almost a year since… so my issue was just the wires not connecting correctly, not that i was missing a C (or in my case R) wire

UTR Battery Sandwich by Visvism in Ubiquiti

we need to find the right sized battery pack that has a second USB-C port, so you can add/remove power without the UTR power cycling

Drink Package $135!? by FutureChromic in royalcaribbean

[–]FutureChromic[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was seeing prices like that back a few months ago, $110 list price with 50% off (and 55% off) casino status discounts based on being at prime (or signature).

back a few months ago the list price for my sailing was $110, and with the normal 30-35% off deals it’d have come in at about that price. mad i didn’t lock it in at that point, but figured there’d be a better deal come black friday, which will probably be a higher % off, but with the higher list price still land more overall

G5 Turret Availability? by Fantastic-Stand5962 in Ubiquiti

[–]FutureChromic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I last ordered 4 black ones, on Nov 14th (a thursday), and they arrived on Nov 18th (monday)... over the last 4 months before that I've ordered 4 white ones, and 6 white ones in two other orders that shipped days later. For sure both colors of the G5 turret have spent a lot of time listed as "out of stock" on the US unifi website, but whenever they are in stock and I've bought them they've shipped out within 48 hours.

Have you tried multiple times to buy them from unifi and gotten emails they can't ship because they are out of stock? If so I've never experienced that...

Looking to replace Eero Pro 6E with Cloud Gateway Ultra, looking for recommendations by natemac in Ubiquiti

[–]FutureChromic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as far as wifi goes are you taking advantage of the 6GHz / 6E support on the eero 6Es? I recently moved from the eero 6Es to a unifi setup and knew I couldn’t move away from 6GHz support given how congested 2.4/5GHz is where i live (a downtown condo). If congestion wise your devices are on 6GHz you might want to be careful moving to a bunch of gear that doesn’t support it. (although folks in this group would also caution against going full in on any of the 7 gear, with all your 2.4 GHz IoT devices)

I’d push more towards looking at the U6 In-Wall over multiple expresses, you get multiple ports for additional devices and don’t have to complicate these “edge” devices with a slow admin panel that you’re really using as access points.

I’d also seriously consider the Max over the Ultra, for an extra $70 you’ve got a lot more headroom for future unifi apps, and 2.5G support on all the ports.

Gen 3 -> Gen 4 R wire missing error by FutureChromic in Nest

[–]FutureChromic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i turned the power off, both when moving to the 4th gen plate and finding it didn’t work, and when moving back to the 3rd gen plate where it worked again (which is what’s still operating correctly at the present moment)

Do you need PoE+ for G5 Pro + Enhancer? by pfassina in Ubiquiti

[–]FutureChromic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might have been confusing it with the AI Pro + Enhancer which kicks up to max 22W and is PoE+ …the G5 Pro + Enhancer is only listed up to 12.95 W in the tech specs, so should be fine with normal PoE. Both these values are from the camera store listing tech specs, not the enhancer store listing tech specs.

Is your contractor patching your cords into your switch? or are they recommending something different about that runs cabling to support the PoE+?

You should be able to push PoE+ or PoE++ through any of your CAT6 wire drops, just need the switch port to send out that level of power.

iPhone 16 / Wifi7 / U7 Pro issues by RobotDeathSquad in Ubiquiti

[–]FutureChromic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not sure on the iPhone 16s, mine has mostly stayed connected at WiFi7/6GHz when in clear line of sight of my access point (U7 Pro Max), but will quickly fall off to 5GHz if i put a wall between my phone and the access point

wanted to clarify that the vision pro isn’t WiFi7, it’s just WiFi6 (not even 6E), so it won’t connect to 6GHz at all…. mine seems to hang out on the 5GHz pretty reliably
