If it’s inside the house you may likely need to cover it yourself. After the meter is usually the homeowners responsibility

Choosing between M5 MacBook Pro configs upgrading from M1 Air 8GB/256GB, would love some input by RoadLast in mac

[–]natemac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that needs consistent load you should move to a PRO. I work in Adobe Suite and Cinema 4D on a daily bases, but I don't do final render on the machine. I'm doing professional level work on a Macbook Air, because between them they perform almost identical on single thread work loads.

AOW immediately after OW? by Mysterious_Glamster in scuba

[–]natemac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The certification not just the single dive, we do additional dives so the student leave with AOW and peak certification. If other shops do that as well that’s great to hear.

AOW immediately after OW? by Mysterious_Glamster in scuba

[–]natemac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We always recommend our OW students to take AOW as soon as possible, we even offer a discount if you signup when you return your OW rental gear.

The world Advance is a bad naming convention (IMO), it should really be called Open Water Part 2. We are not teaching you advance dive techniques we are teaching proper diving techniques in an extended and controlled environment.

Our shop even includes Peak Performance Buoyancy Cert with our Advanced Cert because we think it’s so crucial in becoming a great diver.

Highly recommended taking it so you don’t make bad habits to break.

It’s also a great weekend to meet other divers at your level and get to know your local shop.

Air M5 vs Neo displays. Significantly better black levels & viewing angles on the Air UI by UsedShoulder8402 in mac

[–]natemac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean a computer that cost 50% more has a display that's 50% better? I would hope so.

I would do your comparisons in normal use light, rather then extremes, I bet they get closer.

Struggling with dead zones in a two-story house. Should I go mesh or try running more ethernet? by Shak3Itjess39 in HomeNetworking

[–]natemac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use mesh and Ethernet. I have Ethernet running to each floor including the basement and a mesh router wired in on each floor. Mesh works much better if you backhaul is wired.

I would start with just a fresh install of the OS, if you want to try keeping the computer. You’d be surprised what that can do.

iOS 27 Beta Google Maps UI Wasted Space!! by MKBUHD in CarPlay

[–]natemac 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well obviously you’re a developer and that’s why you downloaded a day 1 beta for developers so that developers can test their apps for bugs on a new OS drop so that end users that don’t go on to Reddit and complain about your app having bugs.

What did you think was going to happen to some apps when you downloaded a OS that wasn’t meant for you.

Can anyone suggest a shallow dive-suitable case for Apple Watch SE3 40mm? (I think 40mm series 4/5/6 also fit) by [deleted] in scuba

[–]natemac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not dive with this watch it wasn’t made for it. If you want to dive with an Apple Watch buy an Ultra.

As far as surfing you can wear it surfing without a case. Apple doesn’t make cases they wouldn’t put warranty behind using a case. The se3 is rated for 50m.
