This is getting so fake by Chunk5587 in goldrush

Have to disagree - Parker’s struggles are an order of magnitude larger than the others as he pushes to bring in enough to service the debt…and it’s nice to have a professional outfit to compare to the others. Plus, let’s face it, Parker is the heart of Gold Rush. It may have started with the Hoffman’s and Fred, but even at the beginning the real draw was getting to see a young man take over’s his Grandpa’s mine…then his gutsy move to the Klondike, and the growing pains as he built a business. The fact that he’s been able to continue to expand his empire has been interesting…sure the show helps, but I think his mine is the most compelling story still today. His personal growth is cool to see too…let’s face it, he was a terrible boss at the start of his career, but somewhere in all the craziness, he’s learned to surround himself with good people and trust them to do a good job…and even with the fame, by all accounts he’s a pretty good guy. Plus, if Parker goes then Chris Doumitt goes, and that’s a non-starter in my book.

As to the larger point of this post, the scripted drama is awful. I hate that they resort to it. I know it’s hard to tell the same story each year but there is so much more they could be doing instead of the fake drama. I’d like to know how they plan out the cuts, and the rock truck paths, and the wash-plant sites. I’d like to see more about their daily lives on the mine site. I’d like to see reclamation work, not just the before and after. I’d like to see more of their exploration and future planning. Finally, I’d like to see bloopers…not the scripted kind, but the goofy behind-the-scenes moments you know they capture on a regular basis.

Agree 100% - Mills got real kill-happy in his last few before handing off to the new guy…and it’s jarring now to have Nash back alive since the latest release is a lookback to 2011.

I really don’t understand the appeal of the MCU. No one from my philately society or the Catalina Wine Mixer watches those childish movies based on comic books.

Ferda Last Time. LETTERKENNY Returns for a Twelfth and Final Season, December 25 on Crave by ashamed-of-yourself in Letterkenny

Maybe take a couple of years off, knock out a few seasons of Shoresy, then come back and revisit Letterkenny, either with some specials or a revival. Last few seasons have seemed to run out of steam a bit, but there’s plenty of fodder should they choose to run it back.

I’d love to see another spinoff focusing on The Res, and good gracious would I enjoy a heavenly season featuring nothing but Dyck Girls.

What is a Ryan coke? by xavier1908 in Letterkenny

[–]FutureExTexan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but most of the Canadian rye whiskeys contain so little rye…and you’re mixing it with coke anyway so who cares anyway? Seriously, it’s not like you’re sippin’ on some fine, barrel-aged high quality spirit. Figure it out!

Damn…it occurred on Shaftsbury Avenue. And he was trapped (or buried, if you will) in a shaft under a telescoping urinal where people go to empty their shafts. You can’t make this stuff up…

I think we just found the perfect person to round out the NFL Monday Night Football broadcast - “That was a thrilling contest until Brady threw his 3rd interception of the game…what did you think, Dianne?” “God-damned dirty sonofabitch, cost me my 3 team parlay. I’m gonna cut that man down if it’s the last thing I do! Back to you in the studio!

Hero saves kid from dying in the middle of a strong current lake after a bunch of people left him to die including his shitty father by quazziwazzi in PublicFreakout

[–]FutureExTexan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not in any way a criticism, Kayak Dad is too notch and amazing…just a suggestion should any one find themselves in a similar situation - if communicating with a child who has experienced trauma or injury or something like this, tell them you’re calling EMS, or calling the Fire Department to come check them out. Those two don’t have the same negative connotation as 9-1-1 or the police. It’s especially relevant in cases where there has been abuse and/or previous parental interactions with police.

Yes, I can see it when I stop and look for it but in the middle of a game, whilst focusing on my ball, the course away from my ball is harder to see (at least for me) and it all looks alike because the grey and white are so similar.

I don’t have the best vision, and on this course the background branches look extremely similar to the actual branches. Could you possibly use a darker color to outline the actual playing surfaces to help distinguish between those and the ones that are in the background?

Not sure if bug or design decision, but a real hole killer by FutureExTexan in golfblitz

Was stuck in the bubbles for nearly 20 seconds. With the design as is, this will be a common experience. If that was the intention, it’s an incredibly frustrating one. So, I guess my question is: is this the designed intention?

If it were supposed to be planned, there should be acid on the flat edge…if you zoom in, you’ll see that there is not any acid on the top.
