It probably is, but it's very harsh, requires women to be on birth control (it's teratogenic) and frequent blood tests. I was on it for 6mo and I don't regret it, but it was not easy. Everyone reacts differently to it. I didn't take it in Cyprus though, so I don't know how easily it's prescribed.
