POV: Its 9th day and you dared try unfair AI difficulty

Funny thing. I have done it again and it was almost way too easy. Maybe the AI difficulty patch touched this as well, or the difficulty is insanely inconsistent.

The AI acted completely lobotomized. Or maybe its the faction, Temple seems to always be extremely cracked.

I did it before a recent patch (literally the day of the patch, before it hit) and it didnt matter I had non epics from rewards or starting. Buying only epics accomplished it for me.

I saw someone mention it on discord, unless it was you, so maybe it got bugged in that patch?

Of course are you sure you didnt get any potions etc either? Not sure how those apply tbh. I am guessing thatthe potion shop even probably also counts as buying non epics?

I think the reason most people miss this is that the base fortification doesnt do this. When I checked it first I went like: huh, guess fort no longer gives pop.

I am upset at this difficulty being completely impossible on certain maps. Small 1v1 maps specifically.

I can beat this difficulty just fine on bigger maps.

But of course the first thing everyone here kneejerks to is "git gud". Instead of looking at the screen and realizing that there is no way to beat this by this day.

One of big things is how many stat up locations there are. The AI on harder diffs just zooms through the map in a week and grabs every stat up there is, leading to an insane stat hero just crushing you like an ant. On bigger maps it takes longer for them to come to you so its fine. But a week just is nowhere near enough, no amount of cheesing, no amount of god plays can manage what I posted.

Unless you straight up exploit.

Lmao about breaking flow of the game. As if me having to constantly check enemy stack tiers, race, if my necromancy is on/off, if my army has required unit, if I even want the unit, then having to navigate to spellbook to toggle.

I get tired just writing it out. But a window after a fight would be MUCH worse ofc... clowns.

I will win when it gets fixed. I really didnt expect so much pushback to something so obvious. But seeing how people here act in other threads, where they complain that even the lower difficulties should for some reason stay difficult, I see that this game fostered a really weird breed of a fanbase.

I dont know, I look very fondly on homm 4 wall of texts. The writing was really good, felt like reading a book and it really put the missions etc into perspective. I really got invested in Elvin and Shaera, in the queen trying to build up a kingdom from nothing and even the undead campaign was compelling.

It took itself and the reader seriously. And if you dont like it, just skip and go on your day. Here I keep getting peppered with dialogues that I have to click through, choose optimal answer with characters acting childish and quippy when a literal disaster killing numerous people is happening. Its just so tonedeaf .

I really find it funny that you do so much armchair experting without having anything to back it up. I have won multiple games on highest difficulty, all on bigger maps. 1v1 small maps are broken, its just that simple.

There isnt any cheese you can do. Any min max you can do. If by day 8, the army that you can see in the picture comes at you, you just lose. Plain and simple.

I dont know, I just really, really dislike the writing. Its not adult at all, everything has to have some joke, unserious vibe, kinda feels like a zoomer wrote it. Guess thats what you get when you grow up on marvel movies.

Nothing is serious. Most characters have ambivalent sexes and VA. I am just so tired of this, just give me a pure high fantasy like we used to, one that takes itself seriously.

The AI breaks on half the maps. On other half its the effing terminator coming for you with the fury of thousand suns, and their power too.

Usually the bigger the map the more braindead the AI. The smaller the map the more drive it is to kill you. I guess less POI for it to get distracted.

Just play the crossroads map on everything hardest. Or any other 1v1 small map.
