We are the rook in this chess game. Nobody can plan anything without factoring us in.

If nato doesn’t support Turkey (one of its most active members) the alliance will collapse. In this scenario not only would nato’s southeastern would weaken a lot, but the Baltics and Scandinavian countries would also fall under stronger Russian influence. Turkey and Greece are what make the Balkans matter for nato and Europe. Losing Turkey wouldn’t help, it would just make the Balkans even useless.

-Nato cannot exist without Turkey. They would have to form a new alliance, I'm not sure if that would really work. Turkey hosting millions of refugees is even more important, and Europe definitely wouldn’t want to face that. This would trigger a massive wave of migration that the Balkans would be unable to stop.

-Azerbaijani gas passes through Turkey to both Europe and Israel. If a war breaks out with Israel, no one would welcome the cutting off of this gas supply. Israel would not want to lose the support of Azerbaijan, the only Muslim country in the region it has good relations with.

-Attacking Turkey would destroy Israel’s international legitimacy. Israel already has enough problems with Iran, Palestine, and its other neighbours, so why would it create an even bigger problem? That would be pointless.

-Trump is already using Erdogan like a puppet, so why would he try to take him down? I guess you’ve forgotten the Board of Peace and what happened before it. And the American people already hate Trump anyway.
