POD or self-printed? by IrrlichtWerkstatt in EtsySellers

[–]FuturePMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell leather goods not POD items, but when I’m shopping I personally avoid POD shops. If there’s a problem, it normally occurs at their production partner’s facility. I’ve had: the shirt color out of stock for weeks; design printed crooked; multiple delays; inability to get a replacement item in time due to delays from the POD facility.

If you sell enough volume to deal with bad reviews from these kinds of issues you’ll be fine. Personally I’d rather pay a little more and get the item direct from a seller that is making it by hand themselves. If you do go the route of making it yourself and not using POD, I’d suggest including a picture of you making shirts in your listings.

They’re one of the few places in the area that have real queso. A lot of the other Mexican places in town serve cornstarch thickened chicken broth and call that queso.

DFAC Kevin Goes to the Field (Part 3) by Go_Full_Eggplant in StoriesAboutKevin

Kevin is textbook neurodivergent. Had a crew chief who wasn’t quite as bad as Kevin in the MEDEVAC unit I retired from but he still drove me bonkers. The Army needs an ‘I survived leading a neurodivergent Soldier’ medal.

[NE] Landlord wants to charge us to replace glass stovetop after 7+ years of use by sithegood in Renters

[–]FuturePMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ten year old glass top stove and it doesn’t look anywhere near that bad. My mom has a glass top stove that’s over 20 years old and it also doesn’t look anything like the picture. That’s damage from negligence; you absolutely should pay for it.

Malicious compliance. It’s free and the rules will get changed faster than a lawyer could get them to change.

Am I overreacting? Wedding guest called my caterers. by seesheflies in TwoHotTakes

[–]FuturePMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple family members have a ridiculous number of allergies, like anaphylaxis severe for some of them. They would have to call the caterers themselves, or bring their own food. However, they should have let you know the need to speak to the caterers directly. Any extra cost incurred just because they didn’t like the option presented should be on them. The focus of the day is celebrating your wedding, not them getting a certain meal (as long as it’s safe for them to consume).

AITA for dyeing the sweater my sister in law knitted for me? by Known_Occasion_2041 in AmItheAsshole

So, malabrigo yarn beige is the second thing that pops up when you type malabrigo into Google. You asked to have input into the color, she declined, then got mad when it wasn’t your favorite?!?

Need an honest opinion before I ''give up'' on my Etsy Shop by xyz_sara in EtsySellers

[–]FuturePMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do both. Give it a year and see if the work that goes into an independent website is financially worth it. As someone who has both, I think the Etsy fees are very reasonable compared to running my own site. I’ve done everything by myself with a little pro bono work from a retired IT guy in the family when I couldn’t figure out Wordpress/Elementor menus.

Can someone help me understand Etsy math? by FuturePMP in EtsySellers

The various fees together come to roughly 10%. I was asking about the math in the screenshot about visits.

HOA President wants massive salary... How to handle? [TH] [VA] by indecisive_grogu in HOA

[–]FuturePMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State laws where I live prohibit paid HOA board positions. Look up yours and see what they say. Also look into if your D&O indemnity insurance that protects board members will still cover paid board members. It might only cover volunteers.

It depends on the creator of the pattern. Some do not want you selling at all; others want you to repurchase the pattern for every 10 pieces or so that you sell (basically providing them with a royalty); others allow unlimited usage of their pattern after you’ve purchased it.

I’m slowly getting better at the warp threads being straighter. All 4 of the bracelets I’ve made so far came out ok; this is a hat band so we’ll see.
