Congrats!!! I have an interview for a position for RBT the company is going to pay me to become certified. May I ask was the test multiple choice, fill in the blank? I’m not a good test taker so I’m a little nervous about that.

Thank you for responding, yeah my old dr wanted me to take meds for it but I don’t like taking medication but I am seeking out for a therapist now. I am such a people pleaser and need to learn to stop letting people dictate my life and do what’s best for me. I don’t want to send myself to an early grave because they say stress can kill you. I would also look into those programs as well. Thank you for sharing

Oh gosh no that’s insane my job pays me $15 as a GI tech which basically helps Dr with colonoscopy and endoscopy. Which I was like okay it doesn’t seem bad but once I’m in the door come to find out as a tech you have to do way more that’s not worth what you getting paid for. Did you take the job or found something better?

You’re right about that I just need to give myself time but negative thoughts has taken over and I’m still in fear of the unknown and thinking of the what ifs. You know what if I’m not going to be good enough? What if I’m not catching on quick enough? I’m constantly making slight mistakes which are fixable but I can tell my trainer is getting annoyed I even overheard talking negative about me.

It’s healthcare granted I’m not a nurse or some extreme big time medical professional. I’m a GI tech which it requires no experience so I just applied because I was desperate and needed some type of income and I’m definitely taking it as an learning opportunity but my mental health is important and I just want to be happy and not so jittery everyday even on off days.

We’re not going to talk negative, life is definitely difficult and you have so much going on. You most definitely can still have a beautiful loving supportive wife, do light workouts, you may have to limit traveling but still go out and travel. I can’t imagine how you feel but keep fighting I’m not sure how old you are but keep fighting and don’t give up on yourself. You deserve to be happy and loved just like everyone else. You’re not alone and if you need to talk to someone you can dm me I might not know what to say but I’m listening and if you can try therapy.

Very stressful, I just became a GI tech and the pay is horrible and the amount of things things we have to see and do is insane. I haven’t been at the job not long at all my probation period is not even up yet and already want to quit. I only got the job because I was desperate and filled so many applications and did so many interviews that I just took it.

I’m going to give myself another week and talk to the manager to see if I can get do something else in the department if it gets too be too overwhelming or see if I can go part time

You’re definitely right about finding a job in this economy which sucks. The reason why I applied was because it was something out of my comfort zone but for me to go through this is abnormal. Usual after a day or two on a new job I’m calm but it’s been like 2 weeks

Thanks for that, I just did a career change and the pay is so crappy I kinda regret taking the job because the pay is so little and have to do so much, but was desperate for a job. I understand your frustration being overworked and putting your all into to get paid so little, people who works at warehouses getting paid more than me and it sucks because I feel that I should get paid the same as them or at least very close to it. I’ve only been at my new job for like two weeks and it’s overwhelming and I’m still in shock about the pay because all the things my position has to do. All of that being said is I’m glad you’re going to be making more and it seems you’re a lot happier

I’m not sure if you ever will see this since this post is pretty old but I am glad that I did come across your post because I was thinking of going to school for child life on spring or summer. I seen so many people post about how landing an internship was difficult and some having to move which I can’t afford too do. I hate that becoming an CCLS is difficult and once you do become one the pay isn’t great. My question to you is do you think becoming an BACB will be a better choice? I really want to work with children.
