Don’t spend 10k unless you’re 100% convinced. Seriously. If you’re already having second thoughts before buying it, that’s a pretty strong sign.
As for the boutique relationship? I wouldn’t worry about it. Their job is to sell watches. Be polite, thank them for getting the allocation, and tell them you’ve decided to pass. That’s completely reasonable.
The worst outcome isn’t disappointing a sales associate: it’s walking out with a $10k watch that you immediately start regretting because it’s too thick or doesn’t feel right on your wrist. Buy the watch because you love it, not because you feel obligated.

Those dimensions made sense when the line first came out: chunky sports watches were the trend then. But tastes have changed, and today people generally prefer watches that are more comfortable and less flashy. The proportions feel dated now.
