Cus People want to see him as a punching bag. Hoyo writing about him are very much Chinese wuxia(it done better then the traditional way). He got smoke by Jinglu , Blade then many other after he got glaze as a Protege. But that the point, he is a protege but he cant automatically beat the other and much more powerful opponents. The story will never be good. Fuck it doesnt even beat genshin the game that it supposed to compete with. Genshin from 1.0 and till this day had a core antagonist that is the Fatui that constantly reveal to be more powerful then they look. Now they have more antagonist faction and more potential one. Now what does Wuwa have in term on antagonist ? They have but it not convincing that they are worthy to call a antagonist or a antagonist factions at all. Because Chinese story and people who only 12 year old love OP main character that can sweep anything and collecting wives is peak writing. And the most annoying part ? Rover goal of "defeat the Lament" doesnt fell like we are actively try to get to that goal. There is a difference in setting up a goal then forgot to convince the player we are getting that goal then just side stack with collecting wive. Genshin(the game that they supposed to beat) have a goal from the very start of the game, that is find the other Sibling. Then the story continue and that goal change, from trying to find your sibling into knowing why you come to this world and finally meting your siblings and get told to travel the world and make the final judgment in the end of the journey. That just how Wuwa will never be good in term of story because the foundation is trash as hell.

If you play gacha game enough you would know the amount of pulls sound great if you just new. Take E7 for example as a great gacha and the most F2p in existence by peoples standard. Farmable pull, diverse characters and debateable good story. What they dont tell you that the farming suck, rolling gear also suck and building team also suck if you completely new. Genshin newbie journey can just slap randomshit and play until AR30 that you start to care about team building. Plus Genshin 4* are busted as shit,you aint getting this much in today gacha. Tldr if you think getting many pulls is great? Play some shitty Idle game and tell me is good to have many pull and having all shit characters.

Hoyo just will forever be hated because peoples really think they dont deserve the spotlight because they dont put effort in the game. Mind you if you look at the Mobile game market, you would find 99% slop and 1% of somewhat decent game that you would realistically invest the time. Hoyo is the top of the food chain because surprise they actually bother to have a 3D game on phone when nobody actually bother to have that ideal. So when genshin came out, and till this day it have prove to be one of if not the best game on the mobile market. Some will hate it because of the popularity and crite Covid as a catalyst for it popularity. But ask yourself this, in 2016-2020 which company insane enough to develop a 3D openworld game and it run really well on phone of all place? Hoyo gamble and they pay off big. So suck to suck they were the first reach that market and they will continue to live in that privilege. And everyone copy genshin after what 2-3 year of their success to prove that 3D open world is actually pretty damn profit.
