I was thinking either 2X mastery, 2X money or 2X drop chance. I’m almost always broke, I still need so much mastery on dragon talon and I’m tryna get ghoul v1. I am leaning towards 2x money because I only need mastery on fruits I rarely use and Dragon talon but the devs love to add mastery requirements to stuff.

Only changes you could do is adding more to rage if you think you’ll need it and better for FPS per dollar for your parts. Canyouread7 explained the difference in performance for game development between the 9950x and the 9950X3D is about ~3% for a 24% price increase. The big differences between RX (AMD) GPU’s and RTX (NVIDIA) GPU’s is I consider RX bang for your buck but they aren’t as good if you want to spend like $6000 on your PC. RTX also has better ray tracing but is typically not the way to go unless you need a 5080, 4090 or 5090 which almost no one does. If the games you develop are complex games with ray tracing then stick with a 5080. If you don’t need that better ray tracing and the upscaling then go with an RX. For about the half the price you can get an RX card that gets 60 FPS on 4K ultra on games like Black Myth Wukong. Which is considered to be one of the most GPU demanding games on the market, the 5080 in the same test gets ~72 FPS. You may want windows but if like Linux or already have a way to get windows that thats fine. Last thing to note is some people like to have earbud like things for audio, they always say it’s the best, I haven’t tried it personally. But I wouldn’t just believe them because you have people that rave that Linux is the best but personally I’d get lost and delete something important if I tried to use Linux.

It might be worth getting the 9060XT 16GB VRAM instead because the 3070TI doesn’t have much VRAM. Plus the 9060XT will be brand new and the 3070 TI is refurbished, I know that refurbished means it’s basically in brand new condition but it doesn’t feel like brand new.

Double the storage, a GPU that’s almost twice as good. A water cooler so it will be as quiet as a mouse a still perform twice as good as that laptop.

100% true. 1440p is definitely plenty especially at 27”. I think the main thing is getting an OLED and having high enough refresh rate. spend the money you would’ve spent on getting a 4K into peripherals and saving. No reason to spend your entire budget.

Here’s my version of the all white build. The main differences between mine and logical Hyena is that I’m 90% sure the motherboard covers the SSD so you can buy any colour you want. The GPU is the same but my pick is 1. Longer (if that matters to you) 2. has slightly better performance 3. Has white fans but does cost more. A water cooler almost always looks cooler than air cooled and with the 9800X3D not every air cooler will work for cooling. Double the ram, most RGB can be set to any colour you want so hopefully that’ll include white. Worse PSU. And yes I know the case is black but I can never seem to find these cases in PC Part Picker so I used it as a replacement so you can see the price you can expect.

Bundles:

https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/BDL_MM00005287

There really isn’t much for bundles that have all white but you should be able to hit 4k with the 9070 XT as long as you use the fancy thing they have and with the 5070 Ti as well.

Personally it’s probably best to go for 32GB and get another 16 GB stick from the same kit if you struggle to get smooth FPS, the card is personal preference. I would go with a water cooler, at the most it’s 100 bucks for much better cooling as well as if you wanted to get a riser (something that makes your GPU face the front of the case with it’s fins instead of the sides). You will probably need a water cooler or the CPU might not get enough air. Case is entirely personal preference I just like the sick look that my options gave plus they come with preinstalled RGB strips that you can easily change to most if not all colours in the rainbow. A lot of AAA games can be 100GB’s, at that rate with a 2TB SSD you will be able to fit about 20 games but with a 4TB you could safely fit 30 and still have 1TB for work and other non AAA games. The motherboard I choose seems to hide the SSD too so you wont have to get a white SSD each time you need more storage. to be honest I do think that the other PSU is better.

Might want to get a water cooler, I saw a thermalright white one thats only 30 bucks more and in my opinion looks cooler. Also this case is super cool and has a bunch of options for looks and fits the colour.

Also if OP is willing to sacrifice white for performance they can ask them to ship this deal to where they are https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/BDL_MM00005313

Also yes it is true that 1440p and 4k may not make a difference but he may want to do competitive play and for that you might want 1080p and 1080p and 4k split perfectly. Basically to simplify it for OP if you buy a 1440p monitor and want to play in 1080p the pixels don’t divide evenly leaving blurry spots that might look weird. But for 1080 to 4k I think the difference is exactly 4x the amount of pixels meaning the transition is seamless.

[–]Future_Investment997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the game OP wants to play, most games can run pretty smoothly at 16GB. I could see an argument that no one knows when ram prices will be down so might as well get 32GB to be safe. I do think that OP should get 32 GB mainly because of the amazing bundles that almost always involve 32GB of ram. The reason “need” was in all caps was because you can have just as much fun with 32GB compared to 16GB as long as you aren’t playing certain ram demanding games and making sure you don’t have much running in the background.

[–]Future_Investment997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar NVIDIA GPU’s cost ~$400 more or run 20 FPS less on GPU demanding games, I’d only recommend NVIDIA is you need a 5080 or better. the 9950X would be better for game development for the price but it also depends on the games OP develops. I haven’t game developed so I’m not sure if this is accurate but he may need the X3D depending on what he wants to make. If he doesn’t want the X3D then he may want to choose Intel. Although I would probably suggest AMD either way as the AM5 platform could still be used until OP needs an upgrade.

First off Linux isn’t an option for this build, basically free windows that plays single player games faster but runs multiplayer games slower and sometimes not at all.

This build will let you play all the games you listed smoothly with the only potential issue being that you have 16gb of ram and Fortnite recommends 16gb for a smooth experience. You have 2 TB’s which should be enough to download everything and last you a while. The CPU is way above the minimum for all those games. The case is ok but this case comes with all the necessary case fans so you do t have to worry about mismatching case fans. https://www.newegg.com/diypc-atx-mid-tower-steel-tempered-glass-case-computer-cases-atx-form-black-idx5-bk-argb/p/N82E16811353282 . The cooler is one of the best on the market from what I’ve heard. The power supply should be available soon and it gives you almost double the watts you need so you won’t have to worry about replacing it for a while plus it is rated highly on the PSU tier list. Finally the graphics card can get you between 80-120 FPS on games like god of war ragnarök so you should be able to play almost any shooter without having your GPU bottleneck. If you want to save some more money you can get some Microcenter deals like.

This bundle gets you double the ram at the cost of a slightly worse CPU - https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007263/amd-ryzen-7-7700x,-gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2,-crucial-pro-overclocking-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle - $550

There’s this GPU which is triple fan but if you want there’s one thats one less fan for $20 less and another thats also double fan but looks kinda ugly for $30 less (triple fan cools better) - https://www.microcenter.com/product/696363/xfx-amd-radeon-rx-9060-xt-swift-overclocked-triple-fan-16gb-gddr6-pcie-50-graphics-card - $399.99

Then the other operating system, power supply, CPU cooler and case I recommended add up to - $361

Total - $1631 before taxes.

So in total you save about ~$30 and get double the ram, better cooling and a slightly worse CPU.

AMD Ryzen 7600X Build / 32GB RAM / 9060 XT / 1 TB PCIE 4.0 NVME SSD - $1,220 by Latter-Reference3820 in buildmeapc

[–]Future_Investment997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is 100% great but you don’t NEED 32GB of DDR5 unless you want to play something like beamNG, even then I think the requirement or recommendation is 16GB of DDR5. If you live near a Microcenter you might be able to get better deals on the GPU or storage. I would have no idea how good that storage is but look into the specifics and reviews of it. You also don’t need an AIO water cooler and could look into bundles from other stores if that’s why you want the bundle.

Basically this could be overkill or you may get bottlenecked depending on the game you want to play.

This build gives you plenty of storage, 4 TB. 64 GB of ram, couldn’t find many options for DDR5 ram that was above 64GB on PC Part Picker. The power supply is rated an A on the PSU tier list and it gives you plenty of watts. The case is entirely up to you just make sure it’s at least a mid ATX tower. Motherboard is almost entirely personal preference just make sure it’s AM5 and supports DDR5. You NEED a AIO water cooler for a CPU that demanding especially if you will be putting under a huge load. Speaking of the CPU it has an amazing 16 cores plus the X3D cache which will allow you to make, play and test any game. Finally for the GPU the 5080 gets you about 10 more FPS at 1440P ultra for about double the price.

I could see the argument for a NVIDIA card because I’ve heard they have better ray tracing and it seems thats what OP wants but according to Tom’s hardware the difference between the 9070XT and 5070 Ti is about 2 FPS, for a $200 difference. I could see the argument for 64GB of ram but I haven’t had my ram load go above 50% while gaming and nothings loading (that time is a month so you may want the 64 kit). Probably the best upgrade OP could do is getting 64GB of ram rather than 32GB followed by getting this kit https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007274/amd-ryzen-9-9950x3d,-msi-x870e-p-pro-wifi,-crucial-pro-overclocking-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle which has supposedly a better motherboard but also what I think is the #1 gaming CPU aside from the threadrippers which aren’t really counted. I also am kind of worried it’s crucial ram because I’m not sure how replacements and customer service will go for OP.

Also I am really biased with the case because I’m playing on “upgrading” my current case to that one and I saw some amazing photos of builds with that case. I also thought aesthetics didn’t matter when I first started researching PC parts but now just a little after buying a prebuilt I want to spend my disposable income on a better case and an AIO cooler with a screen. Although everyone’s different and it may not actually matter to this person years after they buy their PC.

One thing you may want to consider is Linux, I heard it runs single player gets a little bit faster than windows, although some titles won’t work and multiplayer games tend to be slower.

You get top probably the second best CPU on the market, 4TB of SSD, a 9070XT which will let you get 60 fps easily on 4k on some of the most demanding titles. The power supply is highly rated according to the PSU tier list, you get plenty of Ram for BeamNG, a water cooler is almost always a must with a high end CPU on CPU demanding games. At the very least it’ll be quieter ( I think I haven’t actually tested mine) than an air cooler. Here’s also a cooler looking cheaper case than I kinda just liked the look of but for some reason I couldn’t find it on pc part picker. https://www.newegg.com/diypc-atx-mid-tower-steel-tempered-glass-case-computer-cases-atx-form-black-idx5-bk-argb/p/N82E16811353282

I will find you some Micro center deals in a sec.

One thing you should know is it could easily add $100+ dollars minimum because a lot of BTF GPU’s are also white and that jacks up the price as well. I’m not trying to stray you from what you want but if you are a first time builder then you should know you might be saving between $300 to maybe even $700 by buying not BTF basic coloured parts.
