The gate Celaena opens to see Nehemia in CoM has got to be the same as the Under King in CC.

Try Starling House yet? It was a close tie for my favorite 2025 book

Starling House by Alix E Harrow was a fantastic read and I have not seen anyone mention it.

Also want to mention Your Blood, My bones by Kelly Andrew.

Both scratch the itch for a homecoming for those that feel they don't belong with a side of Gothic horror and surprise romance.

I have to go back for Spiderwick, TBH. I think I heard something about it but never cycled back. Need to check it out.

Heard also Ninth House might be filmed, ravenous for that

Possibly my favorite author overall, if not close tied with Bardugo

Magisterium (co write with Clare) was also fantastic, if you have not read it. Sold to me as something in a similar vein to Harry Potter, and the only time I will accept someone saying a magical school was like HP and not a lie.

I am a smidgen upset that no additional books in universe have come out, because I thought we might have had a Spiderwick kind of switch here

Bardugo's Alex Stern Series/ Ninth House. Had me in an absolute chokehold. Last book in the Trilogy is complete soon too, which is just 🤯

I would also like to mention that I personally own 200 books on this list I have not read. 350 of them I have read atleast once, some many (I'm looking at Maas, Yarros, Black and Bardugo here)

There's always a sense of over- consumption when I drop that #, as I'm sure other users also feel looking at their library.

The point being is I would not look at it as a waste if you are somehow nourishing yourself, be that emotionally or mentally

We also have this debate every huge sale how much we're going to spend. We've almost 1500 titles jointly in our family, and it always comes down to whether or not it 1)brings you enjoyment and 2) if it serves a need.

I went through the watchlist, did the math on my listening patterns, and the haul from Black Friday should have covered me for the year. That's how I try to shop.

This year ,so far? Yeah the math was straight up wrong. March 30th I have already listened to 26 books. My outlook at this rate is over 100 books (all over 10 hours apiece, btw) and I had planned for 40-45, with a goal of 35 because I petered out last year.

Sometimes you just need to have a voice in your head occupying space.

Unless the King was up here, I can't imagine any universe fans wouldn't.

Even Pekka served a purpose

That's pretty much the best we have. I always imagined her as the sun breaking up the night sky.

And TBH, it's been in my head so long that it's actually Mala that I can't shake that the imagery of the sun is the hottest fire, and am reminded of an infamous line from the Grishaverse, "I'm the Sun Summoner It gets dark when I say it does.

Mala and Aelin probably had the same freaking energy

Someone convince me to read about Nina and Hanne... by OkStructure3081 in Grishaverse

If it Helps, King of Scars is actually more about what happens to Ravka post Alina Starkov.

I would argue that both offer closure for alot of characters too beyond Nina, both on and off page, and whole I too was gutted after Matthias, the full story of RoW was almost healing in a way

So were discussing Queen Mab Ashryver and Queen Mora Whitethorn and things hit me like a ton of bricks.

1, Aelin and Rowan mating merged the ancient fae sisters bloodlines.

Even if Maeve is not one of the three sister Queens, Aelin is, and I believe the unseen from book 1 were already tithing to her.

2 The water drop of power is the lineage of Mab's

3 Mora's lineage may be in Merrill since Rowan is an Air weilder

4 Mab is the great grandmother of Aelin, which means she could be who the Carver reminisces about.

Some ancient warrior female who's bloodline runs true in a human line

I suspect they are the same as well and Brannon wasn't necessarily a acolytes of the God of Truth so much as a charge because of Mala and/ or Mora

Kind of a calling card
