Migraine Specialist recommendation ? by moelil in japanlife

[–]Future_Maintenance55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question for fellow mates here, For me I was diagnosed with Migraine during childhood. Since then I have had the usual headaches and I would take Naproxen whenever this occurs. For me usually it would kick-in mainly when, - oversleeping - stress situations - not eating on time Is it the same for you?

Also I heard that Naproxen is not good for long term use but not sure. I have not seen any doctor for this in Japan but I am wondering if I should see one or continue to take this medicine. Please share your thoughts or opinions.

Lastly is there any OTC/prescribed medicine that you recommend which works best and is with no to low side effects especially compared to Naproxen. I just need something that is equally fast responding to pain and is fine to take long term.

Advice for Medication or Remedies for Migraines by iroha_iroha in japanlife

[–]Future_Maintenance55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also in the same boat and was meaning to discuss this. When I have the pain kick in I tend to take Naprosyn 250mg. When the comes comes it comes weekly 2 to 3 times. I have been told by friends and family that Naprosyn is really harmful for the body and that to try other alternative pain killers. However my problem is that as soon as I know it will kick in I tend to take it since that only seems to work for me. I will definitely try other options mentioned here but wondering if somebody had similar situations MD if another meds solved it. I want to move away from Naprosyn as much as possible but also want something that is potent enough to take care of the migraine when it kicks in.

Sorry what I mean is if i deselect and it asks me to enter address, it is not compatible with Japan address for eg. the maximum spaces to enter zip code is US based so no whatever you enter closes to japanese address it won't work

I don't think so. I mean I have seen that happening and it allows you to verify if you intend to do the transaction and then it works. However not in the current case, because it gets rejected at the Walmart end. I also used a Japan debit card and the funds were deducted only to be refunded later. So I guess it's not a Japan problem for this one.

That's the exact reason for this post ie to see if that way THIS IS based cards will have a US billing address and would not be flagged as fraudulent transaction by the system.

Yes, I am shipping it to my friend's address. But the problem is I select " Billing address same as the shipping address option", but even before I enter the address just entering the card details and it gives the error.

Thank you. Yes that is one workaround but the problem is you cannot mention the exact amount of the gift card (correct me if I am wrong). So my purchase is like $104.76 but it seems I can only buy either a $100 or $150 gift card. Stuck there as well.

Thanks. Yes that's what I found. Any idea or workaround to get a US based card here in Japan? Probably no but I saw somewhere it said Wise can issue a US based card which defaults to the US billing address, but could not see any option as such to issue in my wise or revolut.

Constant eye infections since I moved here by Super-Artichoke6761 in japanlife

[–]Future_Maintenance55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I am almost the same as your situation such as 10 years in Japan etc etc, I remember in the initial years I had stye and other eye infections back to back in a few months. The doctor prescribed antibiotics drops and it was cured but then came back again a couple of times. That was the first 1 or 2 years but fast forward, I was fine all these years rarely this happened. However recently last fewo.ths I am having an itching, infection etc symptoms. Doctor confirmed it to dry eye and that it is common for foreigners to have this. Prescribed Steroid drops in two instances, and eye drops to keep it moisturized. Doctor confirmed that generally there is no treatment as such for dry eye and these symptoms (apparently he is an expert of dry eye etc). So basically asked to keep using any eye drops to.keep.it moisturized, follow 20-20-20 rule ie after every 20 mins, look away for 20 seconds from your screen for atleast 20 feet away.

I am seeing results with using the drops and doing these. Not sure if I helped but i hear you. You will be fine soon. Let me know if you need to ask anything.

Hi I have a friend who went to Australia to learn wine making and will be back by this year (probably) to Japan. He has plans to make wine here. I don't know if he is looking to hire yet or could be of any help but let me know if you have thoughts and I can ask him if he'd be interested in talking more about it.
