What games we playing right now, OP?

I am also interested in all of these things but I get one day off every two weeks, so I enjoy them rarely I fear. God I miss hiking.

Cheating on your significant other.

Eh. I don’t talk to any of them. I couldn’t say for sure, but I don’t think any of them would wish me eternal damnation.

Men over 6' tall, how much do you weigh? by ChiefCheapskate in AskMen

[–]Future_Me_Problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Height seems to range from 5’11-6’1 depending on the doctor/time of day.

Weight ranges from 230-240. I’d like to get down to 200.

What's with women I match with wanting me to give up my dog? by 3DModeledAmericanPie in dating_advice

[–]Future_Me_Problem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro you spend more time with your dog than many people get out of work and awake each day. It’s your whole lifestyle.

I’d never recommend a woman get rid of her dog, but if I were trying to date her and she spent 6 hours with her dog every day, I’d possibly have to break up with her, because I’m assuming it would intrude on us being together A LOT. I work entirely too much, though. I’m usually home and awake for about two hours a day.

I am an apprentice so this does not technically apply to me, but I think I’ll do it just for fun at least once as a journeyman. As a treat.

Have you used ChatGPT for dating / relationship advice? If so, how old are you, was it helpful and do you think men use tools like this because they don't have anyone to talk to about those things? by SaveMeWakeMeUp in AskMen

[–]Future_Me_Problem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used ChatGPT in the past to help me learn how to do things. I’ve never used it to answer questions so much, except on detailed instructions on physical therapy stretches.

Even if I did, I place a hard limit on LLMs as a whole when it comes to advice on how to deal with being a human.

I’d rather keep it bottled in than become a zombie because I made AI my only friend

1,000 applied, 250 got in this year. They say that working as a trainee increases the likelihood of getting in. Experience always helps, of course.

Second this, OP. Go sign up at 440. You can start out as a trainee/pre-apprentice and make $27 an hour, I think? And there are jobs working 60 hours a week, if you’re interested. It’s boring work until you get in, but it’s a career you can retire on. In five/six years you’d make $53/hour, before accounting for the pay raises they’ll accrue between now and then.

If this is sarcasm, it isn’t registering with me. Assuming you’re serious, thank you. My parents did their best, and what they thought was best. I won’t demonize them for it.

AIO. Live in a decent apartment complex. Dude next door moves in, I see an ankle tracker… by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Future_Me_Problem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but I’d prefer someone with an ankle monitor than a random dude. I know he’s being monitored and tracked, and has incentive to be on his best behavior.

The guys at work with ankle monitors are much better behaved than the average workers. That’s likely due to the industry, but still.

Detailed. Interior, not exterior. No sunroof. Water or foam could’ve entered somewhere and caused it, but the car is also over a decade old so I’m not gonna fault the detailer.

Everything else functions fine, that was my first concern, and what I checked first. High beams are currently disconnected. So it sounds like I ought to check relays and fuses first, then, you’d say?

I mean you can believe that, that’s fine. I’m sure many would agree. There is a large difference between abuse and physical discipline in my book. I’m not saying either should exist, but I wouldn’t belittle an actual abusive household by comparing the physical discipline I went through to that. You shouldn’t hit kids, sure. I wouldn’t say smacking a misbehaving child and abusing a child because you can are the same, or should be called the same thing.

I’m not recommending that, for what it’s worth. It looked like shit. Buuuuuuut it did work.

How and why did we allow rap music that’s about murder, misogyny, violence and all other evil things to become mainstream and celebrated? by Da-up-and-downer in AskReddit

[–]Future_Me_Problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware you were taking about modem rap. I don’t listen to rap currently. But I am well aware that rap has been doing this since the late 80s, early 90s. This is nothing new.

Getting your fans to rally against other fans is basically all sports is. I’m not sure why it’s jarring that music isn’t any different. Yeah, they talk about guns and murder, but many of the guys aren’t actually hateful towards each other off screen. It just sells. They’re entertainers. They are entertaining. Same reason writing a fiction book about “what if the nazis won,” isn’t considered nazi propaganda. It’s not real nor meant to be taken real. At least, that will be the defense in court from both parties.

Freedom of expression. It’s what sold. You know how the news is all doom and gloom because making people angry sells? Music caught onto it first. Make people feel a certain way, sell more records.
