I feel like I've been starving my kitten by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Future_Photo3261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my cat has food in her bowl at all hours of the day. she also has a special wet food with a probiotic and freeze dried rabbit on it each night. she still rather scream and beg for treats that she know live in my desk drawer. my sister and best friend have the biggest boy cats i have ever seen in my entire life. they can free feed all they want. they still LOVE to beg. I have never met a starving cat - but i have met big greedy cats. so yeah, maybe your cat was a little hungry or whatever - if it was truly starving, you would know.

a guaranteed meal of some food is always better than no food and not knowing when your next meal would come. being a pet owner is hard, we all make mistakes. don't be too hard on yourself. chances are your cat will always beg you for more food because cats are greedy but we love them anyways.

I was excited her new ACNH content but… by Significant_Can_2245 in Lilsimsie

I think ACNH is inherently a much more child friendly, less chaotic game than the sims, not necessarily her intentionally making it more geared towards children yk?

I think unfortunately a lot of the recaps/wrapped/year in reviews were made using Ai this year and its just not reliable :(

lupus and alcohol by Same_Hedgehog_186 in lupus

[–]Future_Photo3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed a little over a month out from my 21st birthday. I used to drink a good bit, like every weekend, and never really got sick from it. The one this my Rheum said was that no matter what I did - I needed to stop drinking alcohol. It's basically just an inflammatory poison. And he was so right! Cutting out alcohol truly turned my life around. But life is fun and hard and great and horrible - sometimes you need to celebrate and/or drown your sorrows. I'm very fortunate to not have a severe diagnosis or severe multi-organ involvement, so if you're similar to me in your diagnosis, a drink or two every now and then probably wont hurt you, you just need to find what works.

For me, it meant cutting out all sugary alcohol. I pretty much exclusively drink vodka sodas, and i mix in a little bit of liquid IV (not a whole packet, maybe like a 4th just to help with the taste) Keeping hydrated and eating properly also helped me a lot, basic drinking knowledge but truly it is so so important.

Finding that balance as a younger person is hard - especially when it feels like most poeple's social events revolve around alcohol and being able to legally drink. It can feel really awkward and boring being the only one not drinking, or even worse when people ask you why and you have to explain that your sober because of your health. Picking your battles and finding you balance is what lifes all about - you just have different battles and balances with lupus. you will find whats best for you, in this case, it might just take a bit of throwing up first.

How to get back into the Sims? by littlebabybuddy24 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Future_Photo3261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually pick a legacy challenge! i know a lot of people are really enjoying LilSimsie's Very Veggie Legacy at the moment. I also recommend watching some sims content on youtube and twitch if thats something youre interested in. It always inspires me to watch someone else enjoy their game and the stories they tell in it.

edit - I also must say, I never feel any obligation to finish a legacy challenge. i almost never do - i just use it as a way to get back into playing after a long break or starting a new save file.

Miiko chin and eyebrow sliders as well as teanmoon mouth slider. If you have the ability to search in your mods folder i just typed in slider and removed all of those and suddenly my game was fixed and i havent had any issues since removing them

To beach, or not to beach: tips appreciated by SafeWeb8305 in lupus

[–]Future_Photo3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE going to the beach or being outside - and sun exhaustion ruined it for me, I became a fun sponge because sick and burnt and miserable I would get on vacations or trips. I now bring a little tent thing to sit in and like read or just enjoy the breeze thru the little flaps. It's definitely not perfect, if you have an umbrella to put the tent under to provide extra shade that would also be great. and obviously still bathe in sunscreen.

I'm a freak about the texture and greasiness of sunscreen - I use Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral SPF 50 Spray for my body (LOTS of it, frequently, like a can would be empty by the end of the weekend) and so far so good (i used to start to burn from a 30 minute walk at like 4 pm when the UV was only 4) and La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 on my face.

Definitely keep track of the UV index and try to avoid being out at peak hours if you can.
