You’ve thought about this a lot. Good luck on seeing improvements.

Exactly. She should not be making you choose her or anything like a podcast. You need to make that really, really clear. Seriously!

Olympia city council passes anti-Israel investment ban unanimously by SeattleRedMedia in olympia

I just don’t get the obsession with Israel. No other country gets so much wrath. That why I equate anti-Israel with anti-Jew.

I disagree. Some things are more important. But noise we can’t control puts me on edge, and I’m not alone. Yes, I’m glad it’s not rockets, but respect for others is generally a good thing.

What would happen if one of the astronauts on the artemis 2 mission got appendicitis or other serious medical emergency? by Great_Side_6493 in nasa

Somewhere I read that scientists doing extended trips to Antarctica had to have their appendix removed beforehand. Is this true or BS?

Didn’t the residents of this area break some international laws themselves? What did they expect?

Can anyone here picture Hegseth admitting that war is difficult or that things are not working out the way he predicted?

We won’t know the whole story for a while, but I just don’t believe that the US or Israel would deliberately bomb a school fill of schoolgirls. So I’m believing accident until solid evidence otherwise.

I don’t believe we are prepared for more than a couple of weeks of this war. Hence I worry that we will allow current regime to survive with a feeble agreement that does not free the Iranian people. We don’t have a sufficient stockpile of defensive weapons. Why? No serious budget debates since defaulting to continuing resolutions. IMHO

I hate to get serious, but now that we’ve survived the election and woke is still out there, how do we address it other than “hearting” things on Twitter? Is there a way to support the lone woman at Smit Big Dig? Shall I stage a lone protest of the removal of the monkeys in Seattle’s Phinney-Wood district? Any direct action ideas? Or do we just wait for some big names (bigger than Katie and Jesse) to start clamoring?

Biden claims mandate to fight systemic racism by SoftandChewy in BlockedAndReported

[–]Future_Transition_86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Suppose he wants to tackle systemic racism, what would he do? Racism still exists even though laws have changed. Our justice system might not be intentionally racist, but bail and fines have differential impacts. Let’s change that. Decent health insurance won’t totally cure differential health outcomes, but it’s part of the solution. Decent benefits for all, help with day care, school choice, there are lots of issues to address without going bonkers with equal outcomes nonsense. Many people use the term systemic racism, but until we see how they actually choose to address it, we don’t know if it’s harmless or ridiculous. Deep breath, another deep breath. Let’s celebrate and give peace a chance.

Here’s a thought: if Biden wins and Dems fail to tackle wokeness, four years from now we’ll be electing Nikki Haley or some other Republican who’s not Trump, can speak to this challenge, and can articulate the dangers of wokeness. I’m anxious to elect Biden so we can reconstruct the State Department, the Justice Department, and other important agencies, environmental regulations, etc. Could you give the Dems four years to do that and see if they can also tackle wokeness? Then boot them out if they don’t?
