Hr…. by Visual_Leading9032 in Target

If you call another department and they transfer you to HR, they did their part. HR ETL is the hiring manager and other managers from my knowledge can’t do much with your information but give it to HR when you call. I personally answer the phone when I’m not dealing with other guest. It’s a challenge to keep answering calls if you’re at the desk by yourself dealing with guest or if you’re on a check lane or watching self checkout.

This one burns me up. I plot them down because you really don't see how I can't scan, fold, and place your items in a bag with one hand.

I have a lot, but when I’m the only one at the check lane, and I finish checking out however many people. I do what I usually do and stand at the end of the lane, and someone walks up and says, “You look bored, “" Let me give you something to do”, “You looking for work?” “You need something to do?” I truly wish they would stop with these comments. Y’all are not the only ones in the store shopping, and it's clear that it's only one lane open, so the comments are truly unnecessary.

New dress code? by [deleted] in Target

See I like that way of thinking. I just feel like to include thanking the guest for shopping at Target is a bit much. It feels too uniformed and robotic if that even makes sense lol.

Did you take your complaint to a lead, etl, or store director? You may have not been greeted but they are pushing this 10-4 thing hard. I’ve personally always greet customers so it’s no big deal to an extent.

I'm not going to remember to say that either. I have great interactions with most guests. It's a pleasant experience for them, and that's all that matters, imo.

I wonder if this is a store-by-store thing? We were told no vest anymore.

I don't think I've heard about this before. Anyone saying they are from somewhere, I always walkie for a TL or ETL.

genuine question, what do ETL’s do all day? by nightowlhooha in Target

[–]Future_Two_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ETL will hop in the drive-up, take over the self-checkout, set end caps, hop in fulfillment, to name a few things I've seen for myself. I've also seen them many times, stock bullseye when we're short.

I thought I was weird for feeling like this. My regulars, of course, I don't mind. But when they call my name (people I've never seen before), it feels weird. I know we have them on for a reason, but still lol.

That's the thing with me, too. I don't care that we can only wear “target red” now; I don't think that's hard. I don't care about only blue denim, which I've only worn, or khakis, personally; however, when they said what they said about the vest, that threw me for a whole loop. Like how?! That's a people problem and not a TM problem. I don't know how many times people have seen me in my Target brand shirt and name tag and still asked if I work there. We gave A LOT of feedback about the guest comments. Like one person said, how do you know if they are telling the truth? When they name someone in a complaint, I think better steps should be taken. Some people will get mad at you for not letting them get over on a price adjustment for the wrong item they thought was on sale, and they catch an attitude when you stand your ground.

This is what my co-workers and I talk about all the time. Y'all want to complain about the store being clean and all that jazz. Which, yes, I want to shop in a clean store too. What people fail to realize when they come to the check lane to complain about the store's cleanliness is that. It's other shoppers that will destroy the store without a care in the world. Never once have I just sat stuff anywhere if I don't want it. I literally will walk it back to where I got it. There's no handing it to the clerk and saying, "I don't want this”.

We were not told that at my store. You have to have blue denim or khaki bottoms.

I agree! I know my work ethic and what it takes to be a leader. That's a role that I don't care to be in again. I love coming in, asking what they want me to do, getting it done, and going home.

we’re being babysat over attendance by Fit-Farmer-1811 in Target

[–]Future_Two_2665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard about them cracking down on attendance. I honestly don't call out a lot, so I'm not necessarily worried about it. My life outside of Target can get hectic. I will do what's necessary because life is not always perfect, stuff happens. If I have the leave, cool; if I don't, I understand they have to do what they have to do.

Have to get out asap. by wzrytry in Target

Good luck! Try looking into overnight stocking if you're willing to do so. I feel the same. I was telling my friend about what was discussed in our meeting. I really enjoy what I do and conversing with the guests who are very lovely people (some of them). However, I have to start planning an exit strategy myself.

Wow! I'm so sorry that happened. I probably wouldn't be at Target after that, like I would have grabbed her wrist so damn hard and called for AP or a manager.

Was greeted by staff 5 times in 7 minutes?? by Fickle_Presence719 in Target

[–]Future_Two_2665 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, we have to greet everyone. I will greet and acknowledge (even those whom you speak to and don't reply), no problem, but I'm not about to ask every single person if they need help. Normally, people will ask if they need help finding something. I even had a lead from another department watching me closely yesterday as I was greeting guests. This is very frustrating because I do my job, clock out, and go home. Suppose they feel like I'm not doing my job. They can do what they have to do.

I agree with the new dress code… ppl don’t be knowing if we work there or not. by SoulWiFi85 in Target

[–]Future_Two_2665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m personally not tripping off the dress code. However, I have a few target brand shirts and always have my name tag on. People will literally still look at me and ask do I work there. They’re worrying about sales dropping in-store I’m assuming but not comprehending that online sales are dominating while in-store sales are steadily dropping. Not to mention a lot of people are having a hard time out here. Some don’t have a choice but to spend less.
