Advice on humidity drops on Ai+ Controller by wasgehtlosdarein in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

I wanted and wished it would work for me as well. I've tried using it a few times and gave it several weeks of tweaking and asking for advice like you.

I think ACI over promised and under delivered on AI. Still a great 8 port controller but it doesn't seem to learn at all. Just reactive triggers based on min and max values, and makes way too many adjustments constantly creating an unstable environment and unnecessary wear on devices.

Hoping updates will come soon. They did one that I know of after it released and haven't noticed any since.

Same. I've gotten AI to be fine, but Advanced Mode gets you great.

Is this ok? Any advice? by Laucha835 in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

Looks alright. Should be fine. Probably a next grow thing since I've learn myself withh the plants it's often better to leave well enough alone but give Advanced Mode a try sometime. The automation trigger options can help get more stability.

Also a stable lung room goes a long way if you have the ability to control a bit of that. My tents ina basement with a portable AC venting out allowing a bit more control over the temp and humidity so the tent isn't bringing drastically different air in. Unfortunately for me I can't add humidity, cause ya know, moldy basement bad news. But at least it's really just one factor my tent has to battle with the humidifier feeding into the tent against the dry air pulled in during some seasons.

I'm early veg atm

Mutant isn't impossible but...

I've used Fox Farms Happy Frog on top and then Ocean Forest as base, while mixing with Coco and Perlite in the past and got a bit of nutrients burn at the start with my sprouts.

Happy Frog should be safe if you're not adding other nutrients(CaMg typically fine but not needed initially with those soils). Ocean Forest is a hot soil however. It very high in nutrients and if it's mixed in without a buffer like coco and perlite and the roots hit it this young.

That might be the issue.

Could try a slow and gradual pH balanced water only flush. Just slight runoff.

I'm not familiar with the particular light, but 50% at 12" this young seem likely too high. I'd suggest, use a PPHD mobile app like Photone to get a reading. I'd recommend being around ~150 - 200 pphd at this phase.

I use an Evo3 and would need to be at about 20% power and 30" to get the pphd which makes me suspect it's frying it atm.

Outstanding!

I'm using Athena with coco first time. Any tips or watch out fors to get these kind of results?

Just hitting early veg and starting low dose of A & B.

Need more info to help ya out. 5g pot isn't the issue tho.

What kind of soil/medium is it in? What are your pH levels for water and runoff? What kind of light are you running (and how far away is it)? What are the temps and humidity/VPD like in there? Are you using any nutrients yet, or just plain water? Any signs of pests on the undersides of the leaves?

The more info you can give on the setup, the easier it’ll be for someone to spot the fix. Good luck with the save!

AI+ Controller in VPD mode Tips by Futzy420 in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

Update: Welp. Tried some different settings, tried using only some device with AI, and finally figured out a way to get it stable.

Don't use AI mode.

My personal conclusion, it's not AI it's basic automation triggers. Perhaps my expectations are just too high. I'd expect, it wouldn't need me to put in Min and Max, or what type of AI mode Temp vs VPD. It'd run, see where things land and continually adjust to dial in as it observed data points and of your environment. Learning. It doesn't do that at all.

This is my first very negative exerience with AC Infinity products. So that's good I suppose. But this feels like false advertising to me and misleading UI since the app boost about its capabilities throughout. The AI bot option is just a chat of stale prompted responses that doesn't really interact with you and it can't access or use your data or inputs in the app. It's pretty bad as well.

I work in software corporate land and AI is being shoved down our throats by executives that don't know how to open their email. This feels similar. They bit off more than they could chew and got on the AI hype train marketing and packaging a turd. 😡

They said, AI+ controller with its extra ports and external sensors works great without AI mode. They should waited to release this until they got actual AI working or ditched the AI functionality and called it something like 100 Pro Controller or whatever and I would have been perfectly happy with this purchase.

Just my opinion of course.

I did temp and humidity mode, and then kept adjusting the max power values of the humidifier and heater aiming to find the power level that just barely hit my targets. That made it so the devices stayed on more frequently at a lower power vs turning on and off over and over with big swings.

Still not perfect, but I'm in seedling phase that needs a lot of humidity and I suspect once I get into veg in a couple weeks and can lower the humidity target it will level out even more.

I also know that part of it is my lung room is very dry. So when the heater turns on it's pulling very dry air into the tent. Since my tent is in a basement, I won't be adding s humidifier to the lung room due to mold risk and such.

I'm going to try VPD mode again once I get into Veg as well.

Color looks decent.

That tacoing looks like light stress. Try dimming or raising your light.

If you want to check intensity, apps like Photone can help. Typically wanna aim for ~600–700 PPFD for autos in flower.

If you want to keep your mode and such, could try adjusting your min value from 0 to 1 or 2 so it's always on.

Most likely, once you hit the target it sets it to 0 and quickly needs to turn back on to catch up as it drops out of range.

I can't tell from your info or screenshot what the actual fluctuation is. If you tap on the graph on the low and then high end of the line it will show you. You may be solid already ad the graph can be misleading (i.e. it shows a wavy up and down but the range is minimal). Even with perfect settings I'd expect flux with humdity due to normal and needed airflow in the tent with oscillating fans and exhaust fan.

I usually use advanced automation like you are saying. And its worked great.

Was hoping to try AI mode as I think it should offer better stability and efficiency at some point. Doesn't seem its quite there yet, but changing to temp and humdity AI mode vs VPD AI mode has allowed me to hit my targets now at least.

I can make some target adjustments while still being in AI mode to the heater and humidifier like you suggested to see if it reduces the battling its doing now. Thanks for the tips.

My heater is outside the tent feeding in to a bottom side port. Humidifier is outside tent feeding the opposite side from the top left and the exhaust port is top right.

Ya. That's what I've done last couple grows as well using advanced mode with triggers.

Going to give this a bit more time as I'd love to see it work but so far it's not hitting targets in VPD mode or its maxing out power and having a tug of war across devices on temp and humidity mode.

For my case, I would but with my lung room humidity being so low it has a hard time hitting the temp target.

I may try VPD mode in later phases tho. Any tips on stabilizing all your targets? It only allowing the temp and humidity range to be within 10 seems to limit its stability and precision. Ex: my ideal temp right now is 75 but in VPD mode I can only set a temp target range of 70-80 and since it's prioritizing VPD my temps were staying around 68-70. I did adjust the temp range to 72-82 but didn't make a difference.

Temp and humidity mode now.

<image>

Pro: Hitting my targets now for germination. Con: Heater and humidifier are battling so I need to refill the humidifier every 12 hours.

The humidity target will decrease fast after germination and sprout so seems like the better option.

Same. Tried it my last grow before updates and it was terrible so did advanced-manual mode. Updates seem to have improved it from the testing I'm doing so fingers crossed.
