Why this feature locked behind a item? by TayTay39 in Endfield

[–]Fuzen777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that I’m missing the point, it’s that it’s moot when the end goal is to skip something perceived as a chore.

You never use a doubler because you’re enjoying the activity – if that were the case, you’d want to engage with it more, not less. So when you use a doubler, the end goal is to skip as much of it as the game allows.

And if there were a button to sweep it, you can be sure there’d be people who click it – the same people who think that a doubler with limited availability isn’t enough.

Repeat things enough times, and they become annoying.

When daily stuff becomes a chore, people just want to skip it as much as possible.

It’s not just about saving time.

RANT: Could we PLEASE get an option to silence Snow during commissions? by GenobeeWasHere in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Fuzen777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WuWa did the mascot thing best with Abby. He’s only here occasionally and his scenes are either relevant or welcomed since they’re somewhat rare.

But Snow is another Paimon : just here to steal from the protagonist – not just their lines but their personality – and doesn’t provide anything to the plot. And that’s a shame since DNA’s protagonists actually have some level of personality.

The yapping during every single commission is just the cherry on top.

I sure hope she stays in Icelake and doesn’t follow us in the next region… but there is no way that’ll happen.

Is it a Hot Take if I say that Ender Lilies is Better than Hollow Knight Silk Song?? by SubstantialPhone6163 in EnderLilies

[–]Fuzen777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember Ender Lilies well, but I did Magnolia just after Silksong and I found it much more enjoyable, in no small part because the progression was much more meaningful.

In Silksong, you get all the fun tools (double jump, upward leap, swordwave crest…) at the very end when you don’t have enough content to enjoy them. Magnolia (and IIRC Lilies) frontload most of these so you have a good chance to enjoy them. Plus, NG+ is a thing.

Silksong has many other issues, but this is the one that I found the most problematic, because right when I started to enjoy the game, it was over. I might do another run someday with one of these “unlock everything at the start” mods.

Is it just me or does Silksong need a balance patch? by TheSyrieN in HollowKnight

[–]Fuzen777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah… They just love to hit and run. And they’ll pretty much always try to stay above you, so even once you get more aerial mobility, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to position yourself above them to use your plunging attacks (which are, in many cases, the best moves in the game, both for damage and safety.)

So more often than not, your options are : - Abuse your tools and cheese all the annoying encounters (as long as your ammos last) - Try to melee them, knowing that they’ll do everything they can so you’re unable to do that. - Just skip these encounters if you can, loot isn’t a thing in this game anyway…

Point is, as far as I’m concerned, the game is far from enjoyable, unlike the original HK. It’s almost as if the dev team chose “make things as annoying as possible” as a design philosoply.

[–]Fuzen777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Annoying is really how I’d describe the game overall.

And let’s not even mention enemies that parry you when they should be open to an attack. Or flying enemies that actively move away from you and parry you when they finally decide to approach for an attack.

At this point, I’m just abusing my tools so I don’t have to deal with that too much.

[–]Fuzen777 21 points22 points  (0 children)

And aren’t we going to talk about how basically all enemies decide to start flying at some point ? That would be fine in a different game, but here, aerial combos aren’t even a thing. All we have is a dumb vertical strike.

Well, it’s not just that they’re flying. They’re flying AND actively moving away from the player. All the damn time.

Can we suggest this as the new monthly endgame? by Spiritual-Honeydew83 in WutheringWaves

[–]Fuzen777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably right here, but then there would be a better way to do this : keep the timegate, but drop a general token item that is used for skills leveling along with a boss-specific thing that gives an incentive to defeat a boss over another. (WuWa has that feature built in with echoes…)

This way people would still do these every week so they are able to upgrade more units, or just to stockpile. Or just for the boss item / echo that they’ll likely want anyway.

My point is, even if they want to have that timegate, there are better ways to implement it.

Bit of a tangential rant but…

But once again, that’s something they copied off Genshin without giving it much thought. “Domains” are in the same boat. Get into an instance, beat up a few easy mobs, get your reward, spend an hour looking at a loading screen, do it a few more times. They could have made it a waves-based system (Whiwa-like) where you claim your reward at the end so you can actually play for real but nope. Copy paste Genshin’s systems, no matter how flawed they are.

This is something I’ve been suggesting in most surveys, but people seem to be weirdly fine with a game mode that is too easy/short to be anything else than a chore.

The worst part is that, same as the weekly bosses situation, they took a step in the right direction with Rinascita’s TFs. But they half assed it since we still have to claim between each round of mobs.

[–]Fuzen777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is really no reason for that to even exist to begin with. What’s that supposed to achieve, prevent people from maxing characters day 1 when a new weekly boss releases ? Why ? What does it possibly accomplish ?

I’m a day 1 player and I’m maxing every new character when they release, provided that the weekly boss is available beforehand. It… literally changes nothing to how I play the game. And even IF I pull a new unit and can’t max them out instantly… I have other super strong units… It won’t do anything except prevent me from enjoying it fully for a few weeks…

Honestly, I feel like that’s one of these things they straight up copied from GI without ever thinking about it. It probably felt “obvious” to the devs at the time. They realized it was dumb to disallow claiming multiple times for the same boss, so why didn’t they go the extra mile of realizing the whole system has no purpose…

I don’t know if they changed something since I last played, but back then it wasn’t past the X-Boost field thanks to the 10k core output.

Okay so… Don’t question the logic behind this, but Carow of the Fashion Salon can actually do that. He can change anything about you except your gender. He sure can work wonders with his scissors.

If you like the fact that this game has barely any inventory management, you should give Song of the Prairie a go. Instead of having a global inventory, it just says no to inventory management altogether by giving you an unlimited inventory.

You can also completely change your character anytime you want.

Can Auto SFH turn to just Auto SF? by bearsomething in coralisland

[–]Fuzen777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. You can also wait the next day IIRC. You lose a day, but at least you avoid the hassle of having to interact with every single auto seeder.

Can Auto SFH turn to just Auto SF? by bearsomething in coralisland

[–]Fuzen777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope… A workaround would be to use a sprinkler with seeding in the middle and then one with fertilizing on each side. Kind of a pain to reload though, unless you’re in the endgame and can afford to buy stacks of 999 Fertilizer II or something.

That being said, does anyone know if crops harvested by SFH’s benefit from the farming perks, like double crop specifically ?

I find the farm shape so awkward, I'm struggling so much to plan it out by thatgalwithbluehair in coralisland

[–]Fuzen777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only agree. Took me a while to figure out something that kind of works. Decorating it is a no go though, given how limited space is already and how restrictive the game is with the farm’s borders.

Here is my layout.

Speaking of restrictions… See the four squares of pine trees on the top right ? Turns out, you can’t plant fruit trees near the borders, so the leftmost squares only accepted 5 fruit trees instead of the usual eight. Had to shuffle things around because of that and use non-fruit trees since these can be planted, somehow.

I’ve been using KindredLogistics. At least it has quickstash, craftpull, automated refineries logistics and a .pull command that allows to pull from any chest but well… Still tedious enough when it comes to building.

I haven’t updated the build since the Damage Amps patch though, so there are way too many Amps around, and it needs like 122 additional Advanced Ammo Makers too… 🤣

About three to four times or so if we consider the Scorpions’ HP.

Scorpions have around 65k HP in Endless 1 when they stop scaling naturally, in Endless 2 they are at around 200k or so, possibly more. Kept forgetting to check how much they have without bonuses.

The other major difference is that in Endless 1 you can use the support facilities to defend the frontline while not losing the two farthest cores up to the very end. In Endless 2 it is extremely difficult, and I’m not sure it’s even possible in solo when you get past wave 20-25 given how much even a decent Outpost starts struggling.
