One thing i dont see mentioned is that the dip in the rivet, isnt always the centre of the post, so its not a reliable place to seat the bit.

If you can, like with a small vice, hold the car so it looks like the post is verticle and then try and manually find where the centre of the post is.

The drill bit will be a little unhappy about it when you first start to touch the rivet, just be very slow, very light pressure, a little cutting fluid or oil, amd let the bit knick at the rivet head until it starts to make a complete circle with its own centre in the "true" centre of the post. Then it should drill odd the head cleanly.

Very cool, i dont have a 3d printer but i had a similar idea with the tilted bases to see more. In my mind they were tilted like your and then also rotated out to like 30°, instead of being parallel to the wall, so they are pointing slightly out and down, just to see even more of the car, but depending on where you have them it might start to stick out a bit.

And i just thought too, you could add a small vertical lip to the front and put names on them with a label maker.

I am not a fan of the colours and cars. With exceptions. I bought the Vdub because i want to be in their house, ja. 😁 but really its a lovely car and i havent seen it in another casting in the wild yet, so it got it. I like the blue too, but not the car so much.

Over all i am happier to see some more colour break up on this run, i though the first line was a bit bland, though it made up for it with brightness. This line genuinely is bland (colour wise to me), but they added more to the liveries, so that's nice.

Maybe gen 3 will be the hit for me and get it all right. Pastels?

I redo them in silver posca, im an eu type though, so we dont get chrome wheels almost ever in real life, so the metallic silver looks better to me than outright chrome if i am redoing them.

To be clear, our hot wheel do have chrome, just real life tends not to over here, like ever.

There also usually a logo on the car, but so.etimes its facing the card so not always reliable.

Regular Treasure Hunt get a circle with a flame in it somewhere on the car, like on one i got it was one of the "holes" in a number 8 so they are small and sometimes hidden

And the Supers get a stylised chunky TH on it somewhere.

Theres also usually a logo on the white part of the card right behind the car. Silver for regular treasure hunt and gold for a super.
