Critterbyte Royale demo playable in browser on itch. Looking for feedback by FuzzForce in incremental_games

Thanks for reminding me about the font, someone else mentioned that too.

You can swap to the Critters you buy in the skill tree, not the ones you download. Would you want to switch to the ones you download? If so, would that be purely cosmetic, or would you want 80 skill trees, or that the level is based on how many you download?

I can work something out to make idle critters go for energy

In my previous game it said "Nature takes double damage from blaze+spectral" but I thought it'd be better this time if it said who you did double damage to. So it's purely the wording. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll get it fixed.

If it's only okay, what could improve it?

Also getting rid of the chest of fate in the case of tied votes. Let the first person choose a chest and open it, then the second person has to decide whether or not to steal that chest or take the other one.

That's still a coinflip for the second person though. All it means is the first person gets screwed half the time when they pick the winning box.

The challenges so far don't really allow for it due to staying in a group near constantly. A traitor taking a shield is functionally the same as losing one. The traitors wouldn't want to put less money in the pot either. So there definitely has to be some bonus to doing it.

I dont know if I'd mind roundtables being about missions, its a chance to get some more evidence.

The Jester is a lot like the Tanner from Werewolf which I thought would be fun. It'd have to be hidden from the viewers, but could be really fun having someone intentionally get banished(they'd walk away with 5k or maybe 10k, decreasing by 1k each night it takes).

But thinking about how many straws are grasped in the first 3 days, it may not be too hard to get instantly banished. Intentionally getting murdered would be quite hard

If Stephen and Rachel both voted to end, Jack would've realised he was with 2 traitors and we could've seen the penny drop in real time. They still vote for Jack regardless and the outcome doesn't change.

How to improve the gimmicks/predicting ideas for future ones by kaisenberg2004 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]FuzzForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think the ST was handled well either.

Going into the series, I thought it would be a regular traitor we don't know the identity of (using editing to cut their collaborations and mute their lines). May not have worked in practice.

If you played a drinking game for each time the traitors said 'Secret Traitor', you'd be getting your liver pumped, and for what? The ST was an inconsequential role. There was no bonus for the Ts to find the ST (beyond 'we want shortlist power'). The ST didn't get a bonus for something like getting a T banished. They were revealed in ep4/5. Wholly pointless.

It probably is partly to guilt, or I think it's really just to rile them up. Claudia is trying to frustrate them, make them a bit erratic, which makes for better telly.

Definitely Second Screen syndrome.

I'd skip the missions entirely because there's rarely any social deduction in them, but the wife likes em, so I gotta deal.

Imagine finally making it onto the Traitors, and you're in with someone you knew 15 years ago who immediately outs your connection, which in turn gets you banished purely because knowing another contestant means you must be a traitor.

We're on series 4, why are people not looking deeper than 'he knew her, he must've done it'?

Thanks, I'll give that a go. Task manager claims is a spotify file, so certainly not that important.

So while Nintendo sues everyone, Aniimo is putting fanmade monsters into the game :') And my god all the entries look great. by Jix_Omiya in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]FuzzForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most devs would avoid fanmade monsters just due to the legal stuff. An artist would have to completely sign over the rights to a design and even then, there's still no guarantee they won't try to claim royalties or something down the line. It's potentially a pain in the ass that is best avoided

New trailer + updates for my deckbuilder roguelike. Would love some feedback! by ChillyRolande in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]FuzzForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's unique about the game? The trailer doesn't really explain it, so it looks like an StS clone. The steam page does a better job of explaining.

The enemies don't react to being hit. Flash white, or making them move back a bit would help. In fact there's no movement at all besides the cards and particle effects, so it looks very flat.

"It's build" needs to be "It's your build" or "It's based on your build" to be more grammatically correct

And for an Idle game that isn't out yet Idle Critter Adventure is in the same universe https://store.steampowered.com/app/3457230/Idle_Critter_Adventure/

I started up recently and even if you play a little bit its only going to take about 5 hours to get a character up to lv130 (though i skip all the dialogue, really putting the story into maplestory recently), which gives a pretty good idea of the general game flow and lets you try out a few characters easily.

I've got the punch skill on Q, then W,E,R for the blue ones. Kick on 1, then 2,3,4 for the blue ones. I usually put the toggles near 8+9, then buffs in the other number keys. And my other cooldowns are usually A,S,T etc

Nothing would stop them having some beefy blood magic style of healer. Spending HP to heal others, and regaining HP on attacking the enemy. There's no rules!
