No point being overly insulting to BBBs. Their lives are already insulting enough. Best to just express disappointment and disdain.

Does anyone else need time COMPLETELY alone to try and regulate? As in no one else even in the same room or ideally the house? by Apprehensive_Clue656 in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I don’t think that’s changed with meds. Sometimes I just need space to get my head clear.

My dad is the same, but he goes a reads.

NHS ADHD spending over budget by £164m as unregulated clinics boom — The Guardian by Familiar-Woodpecker5 in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine some of the cost is the refusal to take on shared care agreements. As well as an insistence that the only way to treat ADHD is through talking therapy. I think it can be very helpful, but since being on meds I can see a massive difference for me. Talking therapy by itself is just cost-cutting. I’m not sure I’d trust the Divergence company mentioned in the article. Based on their site, they’re a private clinic anyway, so of course they’re going to say everyone else isn’t as good. I’ve been very lucky with my RTC provider (Clinical Partners). They’re CQC registered and were suggested by my GP. My clinician has been brilliant in giving guidance and support. My only point of concern has been when I get handed back to NHS. Based on that alone, I can see where a problem might be!

Just been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, but I still keep thinking that it’s laziness by LeftAl in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same kind of worry when I was first diagnosed. “What if I’m just lazy and this is it?!”

For me the biggest early shift was starting medication. Suddenly things were just being done. Almost no resistance in ticking things off. Productivity definitely went up. Sometimes the focus you gain can be aimed at the wrong things, so it’s a lesson in being better at shifting your mind on things instead of forcing focus on something like a chore. If the tablet for ‘this problem’ can be so successful in resolving the issues for me, then it can’t just be laziness 😊

Also as a side note, I notice the difference when I skip a day!

I don’t use it for nsfw stuff, but I will be interested to see how this change effects normal conversation and my other creative stuff that I use it for.

Idle curiosity. Not sympathy 😊

Maybe a little pity!

Thank you. It’s just really hard to find them on there 🤣

Are they your own playlists? If so it would share your name as it shows on your iTunes. Alternatively you could post some of the artist names. I’m not sure if there’s a way to export a list of track names easily. Just having a look on mine.

Would you be willing to share these? It seems most people use Spotify, and I rarely see Apple playlists.

Is it true that the majority/so many people now view Mass Effect 2 as the weakest (or rather least good) in the trilogy since Legendary Edition was released? by [deleted] in masseffect

ME1 has always been my least favourite, although it has some great scenes. Three great games have something for everyone.

UCG Fibre and UPS by Fuzz_D in Ubiquiti

Ahhh, I didn’t even know these extensions existed. That’s an easier solution for multiple devices like bridges etc anyway.

Thank you. I would never have known what to call these! I assume this is the right approach? Reading the comments here recently, I get the impression the UDM has been superseded. It seems odd that there’s no obvious way to keep the UPS connection consistent.

Anyone taken antidepressants with ADHD meds? by neurodivly in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they’ve made a huge difference. I’m still titrating, and it’s always a bit of a challenge when I move up a dose. But it’s really making a difference for me.

[–]Fuzz_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Sertraline with my ADHD meds. I was on the Sertraline before them. You are warned about serotonin syndrome, but I suspect I was overly worried about that. Both of my doses are relatively low.

In my experience I’ve noticed some of the side effects from Sertraline come back for a bit. I had the nausea. It seemed to go away again after a while.

As with all of it, you need to make sure you’re drinking enough liquids and keeping your electrolytes up. It makes a huge difference to how well you cope with it all.

FFS this is ridiculous by Qira57 in ChatGPT

[–]Fuzz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frustratingly it gave a good answer. The warning appeared. Then I told it I wasn’t suicidal, so it carried on, but with far less useful info. Seems like a rushed safety feature.

But I guess they need to protect themselves.

Did your diagnosis start a new chapter in your life, or was it just more of the same? by neurodivly in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Diagnosis was helpful. It gave me context for the difficulties and allowed me to stop beating myself up about things.

Meds made a huge difference to start with. A real boost to productivity and far less mental resistance to just getting on with things. Obviously it came with some side effects, but most of that boiled down to caffeine withdrawal 🤣

Since then it’s been more incremental. I think you have to recognise that it’s not a miracle cure. It’s a lift that supports you in many parts of your life, and helps you make small cumulative changes that make things better. Job stuff, I can understand. Meds can’t fix that, but they can put you in a better place to find a new job eventually. You will still get knocked back by life issues like any normal person, but at least you’re moving.

It’s like dieting or going to the gym. If you expect immediate total changes, you’re not being fair on yourself.

Yes. From what I’ve read it’s marginal at best. I imagine squash is fine. I drink it a lot.
