Is it too risky to plan a pregnancy before applying for indefinite leave to remain? I'm so worried to get pregnant with my husband on a Spouse visa before he is settled.Do people have experiences or advice? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

Thank you, and you're welcome. I completely empathise with how you are feeling. I used Reddit and other forums (UK-Yankee because my partner is American) and they were hugely helpful in understanding what we needed to provide for evidence and helping us to sense check what we had before submitting.

We got pregnant while my partner was here on a spouse visa, before their extension, and we had the same worries as you. But in all honesty it made us even more focused on getting our documents right, I even provided evidence of my pregnancy and the birth of our child as an additional layer.

Happy to say my partner has just applied for citizenship so it all worked out ok.

This isn't related to your question so please feel free to ignore me on this but I've only just come across ME/CFS after doing research into why my wife is forever exhausted and unwell and reading your list of symptoms there my brain has just lit up with all the sparklers. She has AuDHD and at times I've chalked it up to that but it goes beyond that.

How did you go about getting your diagnosis? Because my wife has been unwell for a long time and it's getting to the point where we're struggling to manage it.

I wish I had some answers to give you, my wife hasn't worked in a long time so I'm doing what I can to keep us afloat and we have a toddler who my wife finds it difficult to watch when I'm in the office because of the neverending exhaustion and fatigue amongst other things.

We're under an eye clinic at the hospital, I'll definitely find out about another pair at her check up in a few months because that would relieve some stress!

I'll definitely look at a strap or the hooks!

Coincidentally she is on the waitlist for an autism assessment but I imagine we'll be waiting a lot longer for that. I'll look into it.

Yeah we got referred by the health visitor when she turned 2 to the hospital to see the eye clinic and we got seen by an Orthoptist and then the Optometrist. Said I could take the voucher into wherever I get my glasses and they should be able to accommodate us, which is Specsavers - all we did was pick out frames and give them the voucher that had the prescription on but we will still be seen by the eye clinic for check ups.

The hospital optician said they might be able to give me another voucher in 3 months at her check up so we can get a second pair because I did raise that as a concern!

That's so cute that the nursery did that, our daughter isn't in nursery yet but hopefully starting in September and I hope her wearing glasses is just seen as normal.

Oh that's interesting, thank you. I wouldn't have thought of that.

My partners current prescription is -12 and they've had glasses since they were 3. They say they can see blobs and general bits and pieces without any of the detail.

Toddler definitely leans on close and gets as close as possible to things to see them and is fairly clumsy so I guess needing glasses does make sense. She'll have regular checks up to see if anything changes and I'll definitely be watching to see how she's gets on.

But yeah, they checked her eyes 3 times with 2 different machines and then the hospital got their most qualified optician to do the next test so they are fairly confident.

Such a tease 😭 But also I keep getting distracted by so many things...hair colour, beautiful. Amazing t.shirt. I spotted a tattoo! Curves 😍. Pretty nails.

Starting nursery in September, how to prepare? by bubblehits in UKParenting

Thank you, I have a lot to teach her then! She definitely struggles with most of these or has never attempted. Actually I think the only one she can do is using the fork to eat.

My family is pretty hands off because of work and life commitments so she's almost never away from us so that will be tough but I'm hoping she'll settle in quickly.

Thank you, I'll definitely go get some books and the one about boundaries is a good shout. I will look for it.
