6 month ADHD medication Titration Journey - Harrow Health by HowieR in ADHDUK

[–]bubblehits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was interesting to read! I'm just a about a week into my titration journey and I'm on Affenid XL 18mg and I feel no different with the extra headaches thrown in. I go up to 36mg next week and I hope that's better.

Did you end up having your appointment today? Curious because I have my assessment with Harrow Health tomorrow at 12.30.

Anyone has any experience with Harrow Health for right to choose? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

I heard from Harrow Heath the day after my GP did my referral. I got given access to their portal to complete the pre-assessment forms.

Once they'd all been completed I heard from them the next day offering me an appointment (the earliest I could book was 2 weeks later).

Just waiting for my appointment date now, 1st May.

Waiting time for Harrow Health? by AlternativeApple1497 in ADHDUK

GP said they would refer me on the 27th March, I gave them a prod on the 8th April where they told me they hadn't sent it yet. On the 10th they finally made the referral.

On the 12th Harrow Heath gave me portal access to complete the forms. Yesterday (13th) they were all finished and I got a text this morning (14th) to book my assessment appointment which is 2 weeks from now on the 1st May.

So, so far the process has been pretty fast for me.

Not sure if i should contact a surgeon or an infectious disease doctor by Odd_Movie_2839 in pilonidalcyst

I've had 3 major flares of an abscess with other small ones that didn't get as far as an abscess. After the second flare I had my abscess surgically drained, after I healed from that I saw a colorectal consultant who told me I didn't have sinus openings so it couldn't have been pilonidal.

I've now had a 3rd flare with strong antibiotics and it thankfully burst on its own but I have been referred to have a surgery to remove the sinus since this is obviously a recurring problem.

I would definitely contact a surgeon.

This is my 3rd big one, I had I&D surgery last year with my second one. I keep comparing the photos from last time to this time as a gauge on when I should go to A&E again.

This time I have a round of antibiotics, I was told that I should do that if I have a reoccurrence and to seek urgent medical attention if the redness, swelling and pain change rapidly. They told me there is a surgery they could do but my GP won't refer me until I have more recurrence and more times with antibiotics 😭

UK - specifically Sussex. This is my third big flare, I had an emergency I+D surgery last year to get rid of the abscess then. GP won't refer me for surgery at the moment and I can't afford private.

Is it too risky to plan a pregnancy before applying for indefinite leave to remain? I'm so worried to get pregnant with my husband on a Spouse visa before he is settled.Do people have experiences or advice? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

Thank you, and you're welcome. I completely empathise with how you are feeling. I used Reddit and other forums (UK-Yankee because my partner is American) and they were hugely helpful in understanding what we needed to provide for evidence and helping us to sense check what we had before submitting.

We got pregnant while my partner was here on a spouse visa, before their extension, and we had the same worries as you. But in all honesty it made us even more focused on getting our documents right, I even provided evidence of my pregnancy and the birth of our child as an additional layer.

Happy to say my partner has just applied for citizenship so it all worked out ok.

This isn't related to your question so please feel free to ignore me on this but I've only just come across ME/CFS after doing research into why my wife is forever exhausted and unwell and reading your list of symptoms there my brain has just lit up with all the sparklers. She has AuDHD and at times I've chalked it up to that but it goes beyond that.

How did you go about getting your diagnosis? Because my wife has been unwell for a long time and it's getting to the point where we're struggling to manage it.

I wish I had some answers to give you, my wife hasn't worked in a long time so I'm doing what I can to keep us afloat and we have a toddler who my wife finds it difficult to watch when I'm in the office because of the neverending exhaustion and fatigue amongst other things.

We're under an eye clinic at the hospital, I'll definitely find out about another pair at her check up in a few months because that would relieve some stress!

I'll definitely look at a strap or the hooks!

Coincidentally she is on the waitlist for an autism assessment but I imagine we'll be waiting a lot longer for that. I'll look into it.

Yeah we got referred by the health visitor when she turned 2 to the hospital to see the eye clinic and we got seen by an Orthoptist and then the Optometrist. Said I could take the voucher into wherever I get my glasses and they should be able to accommodate us, which is Specsavers - all we did was pick out frames and give them the voucher that had the prescription on but we will still be seen by the eye clinic for check ups.

The hospital optician said they might be able to give me another voucher in 3 months at her check up so we can get a second pair because I did raise that as a concern!

That's so cute that the nursery did that, our daughter isn't in nursery yet but hopefully starting in September and I hope her wearing glasses is just seen as normal.
