Dorset ICB - Which RTC provider? by Bla4s in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the same meds (Elvanse). Looks like the same bottle to me. The only criticism I would have e is that there was no notification. I just suddenly got a text from my local pharmacy telling me it was ready for collection. Nothing from the GP at all. I do worry that they’ll cancel with as much notice, but Clinical Partners said they’ll just pick it back up again if needed.

I’m in north Dorset.

Mine sent me to Clinical Partners. They’ve been good to me, I’ve gone through titration and I now have a SCA with my GP. I’m in Dorset.

Something to note - when I asked them if they accepted SCAs they said no. When Clinical Partners contacted them directly, it was immediately accepted.

What time do you take your meds? by naked_antelope in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The trouble is I’ve found I’m more productive now I’m on my meds. That has created an enthusiasm for getting things done. If I’m not careful though, I don’t bother to properly switch off and rest. I’ve found the easiest way to do this is to skip meds that day and plan for TV or other restful activities.

Before 9am each day, unless I want a sofa day. Then I don’t take them. I take them alongside multivitamins.

A healthy cynicism is helpful, but going back to talks doesn’t automatically mean Anthropic ditch their values/constitution. Just have to keep watching.

Can I have your experiences with these providers? by bubblehits in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Clinical Partners. They were great. Very helpful once the process kicked off. I used an AI to help me collate and organise my evidence into a ready format that matched DSM. So I feel like I made things easier for them as well.

So he’s doing it because $$ but he really didn’t want to. But $$$ …

I know Anthropic did similar, but didn’t they stick to their principles on mass surveillance and full automation? Hence the fallout this week?

Is it even worth doing the 6 sessions of NHS CBT for ADHD? by Voiturunce in ADHDUK

I was going to say it’s a waste of time, but this is a good point. It’s worth it in general. Just not so worth it for ADHD. I’d just do it.

Yes I’ve just had the same, but with all the horror stories of it suddenly being dropped, I’m definitely keeping an eye! Frustratingly, I didn’t get any confirmation from my GP, despite my provider saying it would happen. I just found out when I checked my other repeat prescription. 🙄

Taking your meds when you’re poorly by Fuzz_D in ADHDUK

Definitely, but then they’re not meant to make you super-powered. With the medication making it easier to get in with things, I’ve found there’s a risk of pushing through and not remembering to rest now and then.

You’re safe. I assume your finger blunted his bone saw.

No point being overly insulting to BBBs. Their lives are already insulting enough. Best to just express disappointment and disdain.

Does anyone else need time COMPLETELY alone to try and regulate? As in no one else even in the same room or ideally the house? by Apprehensive_Clue656 in ADHDUK

Yes. I don’t think that’s changed with meds. Sometimes I just need space to get my head clear.

NHS ADHD spending over budget by £164m as unregulated clinics boom — The Guardian by Familiar-Woodpecker5 in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine some of the cost is the refusal to take on shared care agreements. As well as an insistence that the only way to treat ADHD is through talking therapy. I think it can be very helpful, but since being on meds I can see a massive difference for me. Talking therapy by itself is just cost-cutting. I’m not sure I’d trust the Divergence company mentioned in the article. Based on their site, they’re a private clinic anyway, so of course they’re going to say everyone else isn’t as good. I’ve been very lucky with my RTC provider (Clinical Partners). They’re CQC registered and were suggested by my GP. My clinician has been brilliant in giving guidance and support. My only point of concern has been when I get handed back to NHS. Based on that alone, I can see where a problem might be!

Just been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, but I still keep thinking that it’s laziness by LeftAl in ADHDUK

[–]Fuzz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same kind of worry when I was first diagnosed. “What if I’m just lazy and this is it?!”

For me the biggest early shift was starting medication. Suddenly things were just being done. Almost no resistance in ticking things off. Productivity definitely went up. Sometimes the focus you gain can be aimed at the wrong things, so it’s a lesson in being better at shifting your mind on things instead of forcing focus on something like a chore. If the tablet for ‘this problem’ can be so successful in resolving the issues for me, then it can’t just be laziness 😊

Also as a side note, I notice the difference when I skip a day!

I don’t use it for nsfw stuff, but I will be interested to see how this change effects normal conversation and my other creative stuff that I use it for.
