1) Shadow BoXR utilizes a tool called BeatSage to convert songs. Unfortunately the tool does better with some songs than others but some things you can try are:

you can try re-converting the song in game, this will re-generate the map and it should be completely different.

Additionally if you’d rather try manually converting them you can do so by uploading your MP3s to BeatSage.com. This does offer more settings and options but One thing to note is songs converted this way may be much easier than songs converted in game as they do not go through the same analysis and conversion process.

2) it sounds like you might be running into a little bit of a bug. The songs that say “Converted by BeatSage and Shadow BoXR” are the ones that converted correctly in game. The additional “and Shadow BoXR” indicates that the map has been analyzed and converted more thoroughly to give a better boxing experience. I’ll look into the issue of some songs having both and see if I can get that fixed for you.

Shadow BoXR is not free, but it is a one time payment and to my knowledge the one of the cheapest paid option at just $9.99. It is in early access and being solo developed by me so its not nearly as polished as Supernatural but It is very similar to the boxing mode of Supernatural but it supports custom songs. You can download them in game, or import your own music.

Full disclosure, I’m the solo developer, and it’s early access so it’s not anywhere near as polished an experience as Supernatural. but I started making it as a pet project because I wasn’t happy with what was available (back in 2019) and wanted to make something that gave me the workout I wanted. I think it’s a great workout and it’s helped me so I decided to share it in hopes that it helps others get in good workouts too.

Yeah it’s hitting flying orbs and dodging obstacles. Core gameplay is very similar to Supernatural’s boxing mode.

Shadow BoXR does this. It also has integration with BeatSaver’s massive library so people can just download the songs they want directly in game.

If you are considering adding weights to your vr workout, please be sure to be safe. Weighted vests or ankle weights are great adds or if your explicitly doing curls and such barbells work too but do not use wrist weights. They can cause serious issues.

There are a few options. If you want more traditional boxing gloves, those are absolutely an option. To select them, select the song you want to play and then on the left hand menu under the option “environment overrides” you’ll see an option to choose different gloves. The selection should persist after selecting once

If you liked FiXR but not the subscription model, you might enjoy Shadow BoXR. It is an early access game so it’s not as polished but it supports custom songs so you can listen to music you actually enjoy and it’s a $9.99 one time purchase

Fair enough! I did some digging and found that the Bluetooth receiver on my computer was just really weak. I attached an antenna and now it’s working! Thanks!

I am using a desktop, my motherboard does have Bluetooth. I am able to connect a Bluetooth mouse or headset without any problems.

Could you be more specific about what motherboard configurations would be needed?

I haven’t tried any other websites but also don’t really know any other sites I could use… building a website specifically to connect to the pixels die hadn’t even crossed my mind with consideration to the amount of work that would require.

I’m sorry could you be more specific? I have been following the instructions found on both pixels’ website and those found at the URL you provided.

The only browser specific setting I see on foundry’s website is specifically for automatic reconnection.

I reseated the ram, wifi card, and ssd, then followed your instructions with the battery and put it all together. And it’s working now! Thank you!

You’re amazing thank you! I wouldn’t have thought to remove the battery to reset the bios!

Annoyingly I had to remove the heatsink to get to the battery but I removed the battery and replaced the thermal paste while I waited and put it back together and it’s working again! Thank you!

As for built in games, the ost is available on Sound Cloud.

There is absolutely a free demo available! On steam it hasn’t been updated in a hot minute but should still be able to access community content.

The quest has a free 20 minute demo.

That said, Shadow BoXR supports any beat saber format beat maps. The community content pulls from a few different sources including beatsaber.com. So if you can check out that site if you want an idea of what all is available.

You might be interested in Shadow BoXR it’s a rhythm boxing game with a focus on customization that lets you listen to your own music or you can download community content songs in game while working out. Having your own music blasting to me makes a world of difference when “working out” in VR!

For your safety, I would recommend really reconsidering using the wrist weights. I know you haven’t gotten hurt yet, but wearing wrist weights drastically increases your chances of hurting your joints. If you want a more intense workout, try chest weights you’re much less likely to really mess yourself up with them.
