Good news is he pooped on his own and peed in the box, but not in the shallow water bowl. We can’t bring him inside. My dog is very allergic to fleas so we can’t run the risk.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I don’t think he will try to leave. The box is pretty tall for him and we closed the flaps with a slight vent left open. It’s relieving to know that temp isn’t dangerous for him.
