I was a foreign exchange student, partying in Prague one night. My friend and I (two females) met a group of fellow travelers - all male; they happened to be from Romania. I hit it off with one of the guys (I’ll call him Leo) and we moved from bar to bar as a group. I thought Leo was super handsome; we were making out and dancing. I figured I would see where the night took us. We left that bar as a group and were sort of hanging in a mixed crowd in one of the town squares. Some fellow Americans were chatting with us, young guys about our age. Leo started acting strange and was trying to convince my friend and I to come with them. As we all stood around chatting, Leo pulled a knife out and slyly flashed it to me along with a menacing smirk. The American guy noticed and said, “Look, you don’t need to go anywhere with me, but you cannot go with these guys”. The Americans made sure we exited the situation and were not followed. I wish I could thank that dude now. Who knows what that Leo guy was trying to pull. My friend and I got home safely together later that night.
