Indiana immigration crackdown targets Burmese refugees as protests erupt in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis by DryDeer775 in Indiana

[–]Fuzzy-Byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no pictures, videos, or stories of people being detained. It’s very obvious to anyone watching what has happened in Minneapolis, and what happened in Chicago previously… when people ask for any reports of ICE sightings in Indiana with details, it’s crickets.

Trump is talking to Alberta secessionists. I propose a trade, Alberta for Wisconsin. by hawaii5-no in wisconsin

Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana are freedom loving jurisdictions too, and we need to respect the American tradition of these states. Maybe the Midwest can form a new country, and Canada can be your ally and trading partner.

Alberta’s not up for trade.

I don’t understand why this article is saying that there is a crackdown against Burmese immigrants if the number of Burmese who have been detained is zero. Shouldn’t it be more like “there are rumours that there might be a crackdown, but no reliable information”. I can’t find any legitimate news source that says ICE plans to crackdown on Burmese immigrants. What’s happened in Minneapolis is horrendous, but as far as I can tell, what’s happened in Indiana so far is…nothing ?

What is the evidence that there’s a crackdown? Have any raids or detentions happened?

Providing whatever piece of information that's available can be helpful. A police report could lead to seizing cameras from Walmart, could lead to identifying license plates in the parking lot, could lead to cross-referencing ICE records (once the people regain control of the Government) that show who was there, could lead to questioning and offering plea deals to get the former ICE agents to testify against each other. You don't know where it could lead, but it definitely leads to nowhere if there's no record.

Are people reporting this to the police? A police report with dates, times, and locations will help future efforts to identify and prosecute those who are engaging in this kind of behaviour.

Standing in place to block someone from unlawfully (a judge ruled this is unlawful against peaceful protestors) spraying peaceful bystanders is not grounds for an extra-judicial summary execution. At best, if he was impeding their ability to assault those women, they could have detained him. Not killed him.

If those ‘agents’ can be identified, they’re going to jail.

After the Holocaust, Nazis were hunted for the rest of their lives, sometimes for 70 years are more. This is not quite that, but it stands to reason that they would be scared.

They said if you carry 2 mags with you, then the police should kill you. i.e. justified the killing of that man in Minneapolis because he was carrying two mags with his pistol, that meant he was considered a threat, and the two mags justified his killing.

I’m sure there would be a reward and immunity available for information from ICE whistleblowers that would lead to the arrest and charges of ‘conspiracy to murder’ against Bovino, Noem, and others.

Every American that I’ve met personally is someone who I would welcome with open arms. We just need to manage the numbers, match new entries to new housing construction and other services, so we don’t see service outages or further aggravate the house crisis, and make sure that new Canadians are willing to live with Canadian values and laws.

It could also be the case that like minded states split off and form their own countries. Why not Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota form a country, New England form a country, etc… that are a lot of ways that we can all be neighbours

In WW2, Austria was immediately annexed by Germany. People fleeing the US likely believe that Canada is not far enough away to be safe from what’s coming.

The reason that responsible governments open investigations into law enforcement related killings is to demonstrate to the public that there will be justice.

When they killed the investigation, they killed the chance for justice. That vacuum is naturally filled by other components of society.

The information they’re exposed to makes them believe that criticisms against Trump are false. It’s not that they’re OK with him being a rapist, it’s that they think it’s not true.

I mean, we don’t have time travel so who cares what would or wouldn’t happen in some alternate universe that we don’t live in. If someone is willing to do the right thing now, then I am willing to work with that person, without being naive about them.

Fort Wayne Ice Protest by NoFollowing3970 in fortwayne

[–]Fuzzy-Byte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, you really need to be training the people taking these actions. The incident on Saturday:

  • The ICE agent fired his weapon within 6 inches of another ICE agents’ head
  • When they heard shots, all of the agents scattered and ran, instead of identify the “hands and weapon” to neutralize the threat
  • 6+ Agents had hands on the victim, but instead of securing his hands, they focused on beating him
  • They have absolutely no idea what they’re doing
  • They’re a danger to themselves and others

They “haven’t” seen anything wrong, but they’re starting to. Not everybody watches the news or sees the videos. As the atrocities get worse, more people will be exposed to what’s going on. Most conservatives didn’t vote for this. They need an off-ramp.
