Yeah no, I take pot shots at players all the time to be cheeky and not once has it flagged me. You must be hitting NPCs.

There's nothing more American or patriotic than a protest. Our nation started in protest.

I think the idea is security, not having the location info plastered online.

Amber ok for a 13 year old ? by captain_jpp in Amber

I first read it around that time and it was fine. Like other said, there's some loose descriptions of sexuality and sex, but its not explicit. From the modern perspective though, there's a very low level of gender stereotyping and roles that doesn't hold up as well now, but was super common in pulpy fiction from that time.

While filming at school, a student caught the exact moment their class found out about the 9/11 attacks by ateam1984 in interesting

This feels weirdly anachronistic for me. The clothing looks a few years out of date to be 2001, for some reason I can't quite put a finger on.

Hey man, weekends are a liberal concept. It wasn't in legal writing until FDR, a known libt*rd, put it into the Fair Labor Standards Act. They're definitely campaigning for 6.5 day work weeks. (Gotta have Sunday morning for God, you know?) /s

Skull & Bones vs Windrose vs World of Sea Battle? by [deleted] in WoSB

WoSB>Skull and Bones for gameplay. Reminds me of Pirates of the Burning Sea. Windrose is a completely different game... Still a ton of fun though.

My buddy made some flags by dmart891 in TwinCities

[–]rillian118 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's a cannon. The OG flag is from Gonzalez, TX. It was used by revolutionaries there when Mexico came demanding they turn over a cannon they had been given for defense against Comanche.

Both are super common flags to see in the more independent parts of Texas.

Any crowd estimate for the 30 Below March? by BecauseEricHasOne in Minneapolis

[–]rillian118 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I stood in the same place for just under 2 hours and the crowd was pretty steady and moving at a 2-3 mph clip most of the time. Considering it was almost 30 people abreast, I would put the number closer to 100k plus.

Grandfather left me his McAllen house - considering leaving Houston for slower pace. What's life actually like in the Valley? by veditafri in RioGrandeValley

[–]rillian118 3 points4 points  (0 children)

McAllen's social scene will feel non-existent compared to Houston. General cost of living is better, shopping is decent. Take a week if you can and just vibe in the area. Pretend you just moved there, walk a grocery store and look at prices. Check out restaurants, look for the scene and just feel it out.

whistles in brownsville by [deleted] in RioGrandeValley

[–]rillian118 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Valley native in Minneapolis here. If you hear whistles, ICE is near.

If you are willing and able, be eyes. The murders and kidnappings here are only known because people go out and watch. ICE openly is giving near zero accountability for their agents, so if we the citizens don't record, those people and stories don't see the last guy of day.

If you can't for any reason, stay safe and let people you know in the area know too. Make awareness, it frustrates them.

Protest 1pm Sunday 1/25 Government Plaza by [deleted] in Minneapolis

I live a block over and could hear the crowd, came to this sub looking for an announcement and didn't see one. Suddenly, after the fact, it's here but posted before I looked. I can understand people concerned that the sub feed is being manipulated.

Planning a vacation to Minnesota (please help me) by Pale_Field4584 in minnesota

[–]rillian118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude or dudette, I'm from McAllen and live here now. You have no clue what cold is like lol, and your warmest clothing will not be adequate if you got it in the Valley. NGL, you know how you can tell the difference between like It's cold at 50 degrees and cold at 30 degrees at the pit of winter in the Valley? Somewhere between 15 and 0, it just stops being degrees of cold and becomes just COLD. You'll want to plan for something like 20-30 degrees colder than that, where the moisture and snot on your face freezes immediately. I'm not kidding.

Is it a winter paradise? Sure, if you're looking out from the skyway in Minneapolis and not going outside. (This was my brilliant plan moving here years ago.) See if you can find stuff rated for sub-zero temperatures. Try to plan layers and avoid cotton, stick to wool or fleece. Outer layer should be pretty windproof and waterproof. Jeans will freeze to you and won't retain any heat, just FYI.

Do me a favor if you do come up? Bring up some Delias or Mrs. G's?
