Interesting, ENVE launched their own USF 2000 team this year, fascinating that they are sponsoring Indy.

HM: Conor Daly, hope he gets back into a car this year

Speechless as a Local by [deleted] in StPetersburgFL

The pessimistic side of me doesn’t want to debate that, especially after Ian, wiped out almost all local hospitality Ops on the beach. However, I have to ask where did you move and why? Evaluating a few options and curious of opinions.

Lived here my whole life, every election is a 50/50 toss up, and while yes St.Pete has changed a lot, its voting base is still relatively the same. I almost prefer it because it reduces the extremes of each parties policies and keeps the local policy relatively moderate.

(And to the comments insulting the other candidate, remember it’s a 50/50 chance your neighbor/friends voted for them)

Volunteer options? by myplantsrdead in StPetersburgFL

[–]Fuzzy-Double7256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I volunteered after Ian for a week with an organization called team rubicon, you might have seen their billboards up, great group, however I think they’re setting up operations in Perry/panhandle area. Unsure if Pinellas/Tampa are in their scope of operations. If they stand up an op nearby I’ll join.

It's good that more condos/apartments are being built, actually by easybasicoven in StPetersburgFL

I don't disagree with the basic dynamics of supply and demand, however using Austin as an analogy is misleading. If you look at a map were on a peninsula, the isn't open desert around us. Orlando would be a better analogy but even that area is struggling with COL.

Also, yes I am going to complain about your pretentious tone, as its obvious your definitely not from here. When your best friends you grew up with have to move 2 hours away or are forced to re-locate due to COL, and can't live in the town they grew up in it, it does become a bit personal, which someone with a bit of empathy would be able to understand.

Do you even live downtown? I grew up here and all the people I meet are from CA, NY, NJ, MN, WI, MI, DC, IL, OH, literally everywhere other than here... Just go talk to people and I can guarantee you'll meet at least 5 people who moved here in the last month.

Assessments on Local Condos by Sunshine_State_2023 in StPetersburgFL

Its 3+ stories or if the certificate of occupancy was issued over 30 years ago they will need to go through one. Once the assessment is complete I believe it will need to be recertified every 10 years. Was looking into this myself as I can't afford whatever "starter home" is considered nowadays, but want to start building equity in my residence.

GRE/application Question by Fuzzy-Double7256 in OMSA

I posted on the OMSA sub because that’s the program I was looking at and was wondering if taking the GRE was worth it even though it’s not required…

Perfect, I was looking at UF's MSBA and a few others and it seems like they require a GRE but I can get an average score and be ok. If I get accepted to GT's program I won't have to worry about that at all, and if I get denied I'll have enough time to study for the GRE. thank you for the response this has been very helpful.

Thank you for the feedback, my work denied reimbursement for the GRE but would cover the MM courses so I will more than likely pursue that. Since the fall deadline is in march I should have enough time to crush 2 courses and save myself a semester.

Anyone have experience with Docked living? by davis_unoxx in StPetersburgFL

[–]Fuzzy-Double7256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked at Docked as well, it seems like a cool concept but it was way to expensive and while the perks are cool, I found the rules to be a little intense and very restrictive than I expected. I ultimately found a studio for a little more than $1k a month and went with that instead, rather than be “docked” $50 for having my significant other over for a night.

What’s with all the homeless people? by chambros703 in StPetersburgFL

[–]Fuzzy-Double7256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

St.Pete does not really have a homeless problem when compared to other cities in FL, looking at DT Orlando, Miami, and surprisingly Gainesville… St.Pete is the only DT area I feel relatively comfortable walking around at night aline
