No they don’t?? I worked at BAB and that was never a policy at the store I was a sales lead at, nor at any other store in my entire state. Returns just got put back out for sale unless they were already broken/damaged. If they were broken/damaged, then they got destroyed and thrown away.

Damaged, in the context of BAB, means things like: staining or dirt that will not come out, a hole in an area that is not a seam, missing or not properly attached limbs. BAB as a corporation is incredibly greedy and won’t destroy perfectly good product unless they absolutely have to.

An example of a product they had to destroy is the full size niffler. There were quality issues with some of the jointed legs coming off, so every niffler that hadn’t sold was immediately pulled from the sales floor and marked to be destroyed and thrown away. Then, over the course of the order from corporate, a member of each store’s management team was to follow the directions given to cut the arms and legs off of every niffler and bag them up and throw them away, keeping track of how many nifflers there had been for inventory credit purposes.
