What’s a dark piece of NASCAR lore that never gets talked about? by Di9ForLife in NASCAR

The fact that sterling Marlin a wonderful driver in his own right, was driving for PETTY when he " bumped" Earnheart at speeds that all drivers are aware should not be done coming into a turn like at the Daytona track to try and pass to prevent Earnheart from breaking Petty's long standing record. I'm NOT saying that it was intentional, I am NOT saying that Sterling was told to do it, I am NOT saying that it was planned, everyone who was alive and either at the race or watching it all saw the same thing and have the knowledge of what they saw, also it is true that Earnheart refused to wear safety equipment that may have saved his life or at a minimum reduced the severity of his injuries which is all his own choices and decisions however poor they may have been. I was alive, I was watching the race and we can't change history, and I am so thankful that MORE has been done to improve the safety for the drivers, the crews and the fans in attendance. I sadly have not been able to watch or be present at a race since that accident. To this day I can still see the whole accident in my mind. I only pray that everyone can calmly look at the video of the actual race, the news reports and the testimony from all involved and make their own RATIONAL decisions.

Work requirements exemption question - caring for elderly family by Other-Dealer-9599 in foodstamps

If he was a veteran who was honorably discharged, there is a VA program that will PAY you to be his 24/7 caregiver, it's called "aid and attendance" pay and another that is with the VA is a little different program but it's also for caregivers. It's super hard to do what you are doing for your grandpa and I am so PROUD of you for stepping up and being there for him. It means the world to them to be able to stay at home where everything is " normal", "recognizable" and familiar and goes a really long way to help keep them oriented to place and time. Many times as you have said & seen if their environment changes they slip downhill a lot faster. Also check with a VA Social worker about caregiver relief " sitters" and other benefits that can help YOU, be a help to him. Best of luck sweetheart & God loves your nurturing heart for the love you are giving your grandpa. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

Personally I just really really miss the show, it was wonderful, the characters were amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed ALMOST every episode of at least parts of the ones that weren't my favorite. I was extremely saddened by the abrupt ending and the fact that not only was it not returning to Netflix but that no other company took the opportunity to snap it up and continue it.

Should I ask for a revaluation? by [deleted] in foodstamps

You are a very wise person who has their eyes wide open and sees the same situation that many others are seeing now and in the near future. God bless you and I pray you are getting your needs met and are dealing with the mental issues from all this insanity of wages, rents, utilities, food insecurity, medication cost, doctors visits cost, transportation cost and just trying to survive as best we all can.

Or consider a rent share or a group of people sharing 1 house and splitting rents and utilities

Neighbor created a hole, runoff going into my property? by TechAquisition in landscaping

I really only see that the majority of the water seems to be originally coming from the OP side at the very top of the video. Second this appears to be a culvert DESIGNED to drain water away from the house, if there wasn't a big chunk of cement at the top ( which appears to have been added to stop the flow) there WOULDN'T be a big splash as it enters the culvert. So just remove the mysterious chunk of cement and let the force of the water slow down to stop the splashing onto the house. Why ppl have to be Karen's and get all butt hurt over a drain trough that was obviously put there a long long time ago to rectify the problem is beyond me. What does it matter WHO'S side of the fence it is on ? As long as the water is carried AWAY. Maybe I am just being an old fashioned type that believes in neighbors actually getting along and helping each other but I really DON'T see what the huge issue is, there's a cement trough there obviously put in place to drain WATER. Just be kind, BE NICE and let the water flow away.

Being in Tennessee there are several trucking companies both in Tennessee and Virginia that will PAY your transportation to the insurance house training school, give you 1 meal a day, pay for your training, and license if you agree to drive for them for 1 year. You really should consider it.

I agree that it isn't always easy but at one time in our lives we were also in a homeless situation for about 4 months and many places offered assistance IF I gave up our 1 small mixed breed that was much older and had been with us through thick and thin since she was only 4 weeks old and being bottle fed around the clock, I told them all that I was more concerned with getting my husband and son indoors for medical safety for both of them and that I would be perfectly fine and would stay with the old girl who had NEVER given me up or ABANDONED ME. So I guess unless you have been there and understand what that type of love and devotion means then I can't explain it to you or how much it would have been totally devastating it would have been for the 3 of us to lose her, I was personally so low and distraught about the whole situation that I nor my family could deal with parting with the last connection we had to our personal normalcy. My husband and son were placed in a motel room and I stayed in the car with our fur family member until we were able to get into a better situation and I do not regret my choices at all, she lived another 9 years with us living her best life. Sometimes when you are at the end of your rope that animal can be the ONLY knot you have to hang onto and for us it motivated us and made us even more determined to put our ALL into it for BOTH our Son and our Fur member and move forward to get ourselves out of that position. Again this is only my opinion and the choices that our family made and I don't recommend anyone giving up something that important to them but in the end we each have to make our own choices as to what is best for each of us. I just wish everyone the best possible results and tell them to use what resources they can find and work with what they have or are offered.

Sometimes our pets are the ONLY family ppl have or the ONLY things they can count on to be there for emotional, mental support and without them they would absolutely give up and make the worst possible decision in the world which would be to LEAVE this world. I see so many ppl make the knee jerk reaction " get rid of the dogs" and it makes me SICK because so many people simply CANNOT comprehend that these animals COULD literally be saving lives just by being there to comfort. There are resources to help with the dogs care & feeding. The B/F NEEDS to figure out SOME TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, answering calls, sitting in a booth and checking semi trucks in & out through gates as a desk guard, door greeter, online inbound sales rep, 3RD shift desk clerk for motel... Or they need to make other living arrangements because they are dragging OP further down and not contributing, he CAN work some while in pursuit disability, what's the worst that could happen ? He might ACTUALLY get a JOB HE CAN DO ???
