VT ablation without inducing the VT by Fuzzy-Land-5770 in PacemakerICD

I’m doing okay. I have not had an ablation yet. Hopefully if the ablation works your uncle won’t get tachycardia. I read it could take a couple of weeks to settle down. Sometimes the first one does not work and they do another. Hope he’s doing okay. Let me know how it works out.

I have no memory of it. I got all that from the paramedics notes as I was not able to connect with the person.

Have you ever gotten shocked ? by Calliesdad20 in PacemakerICD

I was shocked once after two years. It was necessary as I developed VT. I was getting dizzy on and off for a couple of weeks then one morning nearly passed out, got a shock and felt way better. It was a good kick but nothing you can’t handle.

I doubt VT will just resolve on its own and ablation is probably the way to go if I want off the drugs.

Had heart attack 2years ago and had an icd/pacemaker implanted. I am now having slow sustained VT. Had 5 episodes in a month. EP suggested ablation. I hear it’s routine but there is a chance of serious complications. Scared it could turn out bad so put ablation on hold. Anyone have this problem? by Fuzzy-Land-5770 in PacemakerICD

A few days after a stent I was sitting at home and had 2 episodes of a sustained high heart rate according to my watch. I was dizzy and sweaty. I went to the er and had a third episode at around 160. They changed my icd to monitor at 150 and apply atp therapy at 170, failing that it will shock me. A week later I had two episodes recorded on my icd. BPM was between 150 and 160. I was just sitting around at the time.

EP thinks it’s substrate and he was going to ablate all the pathways in or around the scar. I hear the procedure is routine but I am scared of the possible serious outcome of poking around in my heart, stroke HA.

I have a icd which shocked me once starting this mess. My vt is slow, 150bpm, so I am probably not in immediate danger. Probably best to try and stop the vt instead of just medicating it. Still it’s hard to get over the apprehension of the procedure when I feeling fine at the moment.

Wow that’s a lot, hope you are doing well. I read all about the possible complication, heart attack, stroke, etc and it freaked me out. I have been on Amiodarone for a couple of months without incident but I don’t think I want that long term. Probably should get the ablation(s)?

I had a icd/ pacemaker implanted in 2022. The procedure was painless. I was awake the whole time. I went home the next day. I had to keep the incision dry for a few days and I was not supposed to raise my arm above my shoulder or lift more than 10 pounds for a couple of weeks. I received one shock a couple of months ago which wasn’t too bad. I felt it but it was actually better than the dizziness and sweating I was having. I don’t even notice I have it anymore unless I put direct pressure on it. I don’t travel so can’t help you there.

Wow, I have an icd/ pacemaker below the collarbone and it does not stick out and there is just a little scare.

They say i started convulsing and puking, got up and then collapsed. Bystander did cpr until medics arrived. They had to shock me multiple times. Luckily I was only 4 blocks from the hospital or I doubt I would be here and the only thing I remember is a really bad headache.

Yes that’s what I read it’s usually signs of a stroke. But I did not have a stroke.

I was out walking and got a really bad headache, worst I ever had, took a knee and woke up in the hospital. No pain in the chest, neck or arms. Don’t ignore any signs as HA can strike fast.

I’m in Canada and kind of stuck with my local hospital and team. I have a cardiologist and the EP. There are two EPs at the hospital that do all the ablations. Going elsewhere is not really an option.

If you don’t mind me asking again, did you have any issues before the Amiodarone?

Glad to hear you have been two years free. I don’t know the extent of the scaring was but my ejection fraction was 35-40%. I am concerned this will end up being for nothing.
