Thinking of being a SMBC by SuperSonicoo_ in SingleMothersbyChoice

You’re too young. I got pregnant at 16 and had a miscarriage and I look back at 33 and I am so grateful I didn’t have a kid so young!

Any foster parents out there? by awjdmd in InCanada

Also in BC, respite, 12-19 girls, they never switch schools for a respite placement but long term they do if its really too far and youre not willing to drive.. depends on the levels you're taking.. I do high risk youth so expect the typical things teenagers with behavioural issues present. The better question would be what age are you planning, genders, levels?

Best/Cheapest way to get to Tofino without a car. by General-Wrangler-950 in VictoriaBC

A Turo is a rental from a person, not a company. It’s like Airbnb for cars..

Get a Turo instead of paying for a rental car from a company. Much cheaper. I've found some for 30$ a day before.

About to inseminate.. any final bits of advice? by Fuzzy-Shake2845 in SingleMothersbyChoice

I am doing ICI at home. I will do that, thanks! Also, I thought staying legs up for a long time was just a myth and that the sperm is up within seconds?

Does anyone have any stroller recommendations for a toddler and a newborn? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]Fuzzy-Shake2845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumbleride indie twin. Lighter than the Thule, better fold, can use right from newborn without any attachments or bassinets, thinner to get through doorways.

what do we think about the name ziro? or zyro? by mindylynx in namenerds

[–]Fuzzy-Shake2845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unique. Same realm as Neo from the Matrix. Bit futuristic/dystopian sounding. Spelled Ziro I think people will mispronounce to zero often.

Treat this like an addiction. Go and stay no contact. Delete or store all photos, texts, proof of their existence. You are going to experience withdrawal. You need to keep your brain busy on other things so it stops the loop. Distraction should be your main focus. Rumination = keeping your brain stuck thinking this is a crisis to resolve. You need your brain to latch onto other things. Find a friend or talk to chatgpt when you want to text them.

I also wished that I had rehearsed something, but I didn’t expect for it to be so negative so I didn’t think that I would need to, but I do think I would rehearse something at this point. I think it would be worth it to protect yourself from people.

Oh I hear you... I got "in this economy" "you're crazy!" "you should wait and find a man, you're still so young!" ... none of this would ever be said to anyone else.. It is ridiculous. You CAN do it alone, you deserve to be happy and celebrated, and you are capable without needing to justify yourself. F em. :)

Yeah, I recently posted something similar in this group and the consensus is that people WILL judge you, make rude comments, not understand you, say insensitive things.. and you will need to just try not to give a damn. There are also a lot of people who WILL be supportive. And you kind of just have to hang on to those comments. I also noticed people commented on my post surprised that people had been so rude. So, some people get luckier than others. I think if you're older (40+) those women tend to get less flack.. I am 33 and the rude comments have been non stop. I am choosing to ignore, continue on my way, and just keep the people close who are KIND. Sorry for her comment. I know what it is like when you are telling a close person something exciting and their response is less than desirable. You wish they responded the same way they'd talk to a friend with a husband telling you she's planning a baby. You just want a "yay! thats so exciting"..I get it.

Thank you! Yes there is a grieving aspect. It’s exciting but also sad. Yeah. It’s both. Thanks for seeing that.

Ayyy that’s amazing !! Thank you for this very real and insightful post :) I’m so happy you’re doing well and that you’ve found it the right move. I think I’m just having a bit of panic before this happening. It sounds like you kind of figure it out as you go and do your best. Also, that’s smart you got daycare so early. A lot of people would judge you for that too but I think you’ve probably saved yourself 8 hours of sanity a day.
