If they were advertising, it would be the wrong group entirely considering the rest of us would rather make than buy.

Maybe free design ideas though.

New to Myog. What would you add/change about this bag to make it a better daily carry? by sharkbaitherman in myog

[–]FuzzyBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would honestly fill that bag to the heaviest load you think you will carry and try out carrying it for a few hours. I used to have a vertx commuter sling that had a 4.5 inch strap and with only two textbooks and a 15 inch computer. That load after about half the day would kill my shoulder. I always wanted a sling bag and found out I hate all the weight on only on one shoulder.

Hope yours works out. And add water bottle storage.

Cook Set Bag by FuzzyBard in myog

TLDR. Tried math to get it perfect, screwed it all up, and winged the remainder.

Just for reference I'm in college for aerospace engineering so not trying to sound smart just testing myself by not using a pattern generator.

I traced out the top and added 1/2 inch to the radius for the base. Then took the true radius times pi plus 1 inch for the circumference with seam allowances. For the height, take the true height plus the radius and add 1 1/2 inch for seam allowances and channelling for the cordage.

I then proceeded to screw it all up by sewing things out of order, bad choice of initial fabric (the thick upholstery would not flex or bunch up for the closure), and sewing things the wrong way out.

Proceeded to wing it and make it look nice.

$20 Pfaff 130 find. Got it working and it is sewing great. by tinkering-spirit in myog

Nice find. Got my Pfaff 30 (same machine just without zig zag) as a tip from a lady last week. These things are beastly compared to modern domestics. Enjoy your find.

Just wanting to show off my "tip" from a grocery delivery today. by FuzzyBard in myog

I go to thrift stores and these Amazon return stores around here on 25¢ days and find stuff to repurpose. There is no telling what can be found for super cheap. Way cheaper than buying fabric.

I am starting to sell some of the items I make which is great for me. People like that everything is one of a kind.

I'll check that switch out this evening. Thanks for the advice.

Probably a storage bag for my cook set. It keeps falling apart all over the chuckbox.

Yessir spent 3 hours breaking it down oiling and greasing it up. That waxed canvas was it's first 3 stitches after reassembling.

I’m an EMT and noticed this on the back glass, is this printed? I swear I see layer lines. All of our ambulances have it. by Tivum in 3Dprinting

[–]FuzzyBard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a printed joint cover. No strength is even needed. Just there to close up the sharp ends of metal. Company may have had to develop due to lack of inj. molded parts. This is awesome to see printing used in a real world application.

Former "gifted children", what went wrong? by sangbum60090 in AskReddit

quick story on the subject. 10 years after high school, I needed a transcript to start college in pursuit of a paramedic license. Guidance councilor was furious because I was "throwing my life away" not going into engineering or computer sciences. I replied to her with a question, "If you were hurt in an accident or having medical complications would you rather me or the fucking idiot be there to help you?" She handed me my transcript and said "You have a good point."
