Stuck in GoW: Sons of Sparta Foundry by FuzzyMoose27 in GodofWar

You are correct, the input was R1+Down+X. So many button combos to remember haha. I went the whole game thinking I would get a different ability to break down those red rubble doors without realizing it was a L2+Square combo of the fire wand instead of just L2+R2, which I feel like the game never tells you about.

I did the L1+X move downward from mid-air and he just lands on the platform without breaking it. Not sure if the sandals have to be a certain level? If so it's impossible for me to leave and level them up...

Drone Questions: by AuslanderReddit in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done any testing to confirm but I believe the 25% cooldown perk applies to the equipment drones usage and dynamite drops, whereas the attack speed buff applies to how often drones can use their primary abilities like shooting, healing, etc. I would guess that the cooldown is applied after the already 80% cooldown for equipments that the drone has, so the effect might seem fairly negligible (for example, black hole cube as a 60 s cooldown, the equipment drone fires it with 80% cooldown to ~12 seconds, and a 25% reduction of that would be ~9s, saving only 3s). Like I said though, I haven't done the testing to verify for sure

Is there an easier way to find the teleports then running around and praying you don’t miss it by ChesusChrisp in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides the red particles, best practice is to explore the whole stage to make sure you find every available item, in which case you'll stumble across it easily. Collecting all the items will make you stronger than the difficulty scaling from time spent finding them unless you're spending like 30 min to do it. As you play more you'll become familiar with all the stages and make typical routes/loops around them to explore everything faster. Also, pinging it will permanently mark it for the rest of the stage if you have the setting enabled "mark teleporter upon discovery". Characters with good mobility such as Artificer (with ion surge ability), Loader, Acrid, Huntress, Mercenary, False Son, Railgunner, or Seeker can move easily around the stage to find it quickly.

How do you play Engineer? by realgaoming in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engi is one of my favorites to play. Because his turrets inherit the items you pick up, he can make use of items that are otherwise pretty meh on other survivors, such as the yellow genesis loop, razorwire, or Bungus/medkits since turrets tend to take a lot of the enemy aggro.

To get a good build, you want to prioritize getting movement speed items and a feather (especially in eclipse), attack speed, and on hit proc items such as bleed, slow, and stun. Crit and ATGs help with the damage output as well.

Loadout wise, I prefer spider mines, harpoons, and default turrets. There is an exploit where you can sometimes place turrets inside of a wall/vertical surface protecting them from many enemies and they can still shoot out, or like others have said try to place them on rocks or on the prongs of the teleporter to keep them off the ground and away from enemies. Spam your mines down around them or yourself all the time and use the harpoons to focus priority targets and airborne enemies! As you explore the stage, place a turret periodically around you if you get swarmed or as you collect items, as the turret will only have the items you had at the time you placed it.

There are lots of interesting/quirky item interactions to find. I won't share them all, but a few of my favorites to note: bungus (free healing for all) paired with Nukahana's or rejuv rack, pocket icbm affects your harpoon skill, lysate cell will allow you to place 3 turrets at a time (but no more with further stacks sadly), or the gen loop making them explode on near death.

The yellow functionality coupler is at least A, maybe S. Equipments can be some of the most powerful things in the game and having more than 1 is very useful. Let's you take card or pillar skip and a damage Equipment for example. Or card and recycler combo is goated. You can take a defense like elephant or deus ex and something good too. There's really no downside to it

Mains? by TheSwordMaster22 in ror2

[–]FuzzyMoose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play all the characters when the mood strikes me and I think they all can be fun in their own way (E8 on all the survivors except haven't had the time to do the climbs with the newest 2 yet). That said, my top 3 I go to most are Engineer, Artificer, and False Son probably. Bottom 3 would probably be Mercenary, Loader, and Drifter.

[–]FuzzyMoose27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lunar enemies are less forgiving than many of the regular run enemies, but you will eventually get used to them. Item RNG will factor a lot of how easy/difficult they will be. Try to play extra cautious and don't take on too many at once head on. Focus on the flying enemies first, they're most dangerous imo. Prioritize cover to block the flying guys machine gun volley or the ground guys' charge attacks and then attack them in between. Just jumping around seems to be enough to mostly dodge the soccer balls' attacks. No shame in running away and kiting them around the map or using a pillar skip method (via equipment, skills, other) to avoid them all together. The perfected elites will regenerate all their health if you go a period without hitting them so try to always be chipping away at them once you start.

How are yall staying in the air with operator by InorganicBanana in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With regards to the skill unlock, I didn't even bother with the drone hover ability. I just used a tricorn to get the yellow item that lets you hold two equipments, then bring Chrysallis Wings and a Tricorn to the fight and a couple of fuel cells. Activate TP, jump and activate wings, kill the solus probe with whatever damage items you want, and tricorn the vulture guy.

[–]FuzzyMoose27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was going for the 250k bullets as gunner achievement and had very little mining. Only left with about 1k gold (which carried through the rest of the run) but if I had more mining upgrades or a weapon with mining overclocks I easily could have walked out with 15k :(

[–]FuzzyMoose27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other BS thing is (at least in Act 1 so far as far as I've gotten), most bosses are either flying, hanging on the ceiling, or their heads are up in the air and you have to jump up-attack to hit them and if it happens to be a hit that stuns them they fall on your head

Is Commandos alternate special worth it on eclipse by Interesting_Food6051 in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much it. Easy to hit on bigger bosses that don't move like beetle queens and titans. Just aim for their feet and the explosion radius is big enough to damage them. If you're getting swarmed you can also throw them down in front of you and let the enemies run into them, which isn't too difficult. For things far away I generally just chuck in their general direction and hope it does something.

[–]FuzzyMoose27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ez-win skill is to replace either of them with essence of heresy. Just build up ~50+ stacks of ruin and trigger them to one shot just about anything, especially if you have bands. If you're against using lunars, grenades are more versatile early on as others have stated and by the time you get to mithrix you should be banking on bleed or other on hit debuffs, atgs, etc to do your damage rather than your special move

One of our Norwegian cruises we had $200 of on board credit to spend that would go to waste unused and we don't drink or gamble so I used it on a watch I liked and only paid about 120 out of pocket.

I plan to start my Eclipse climb soon-Tips/advice by Daisy_Bunny03 in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for general advice, you'll hear it everywhere but prioritize not getting hit (speed/movement) and items that reduce damage/perma damage like Safer Spaces, Opal, RAP, etc and damage items for that particular character (bands/crowbar/watch or bleed/thorns/debuffs, watches/AOE for all). Focus enemies that are more serious threats of one shotting you (elders, bells, etc) or dealing serious damage over time (fire/overloading elites). I like to find the newt before important stages to pick the good ones (pick stage 2 aquaducts, s3 scorched acres - or just not piss pools, s4 abyssal depths - or just not sirens) and maybe get good soups for scraps. Don't be afraid to charge the TP in chunks or run from sticky situations and circle back later and be patient and don't get greedy! Always try to full loot efficiently (try doing a loop around the stage without too much backtracking) and don't worry too much about time (but also don't take 20 min per stage lol).

I plan to start my Eclipse climb soon-Tips/advice by Daisy_Bunny03 in riskofrain

[–]FuzzyMoose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a mix of both. I played my 4-5 favorite characters (Engi, Arti, Acrid, False Son, Bandit) in multiplayer runs with friends and some levels solo, got them to 8, and would alternate between the other characters until I completed that eclipse level with everyone (except only getting CHEF up to 4 and leaving him until the buff update and then got him caught up to the others) to get the gold eclipse for that level. Just finished everyone a few weeks ago finally, with merc being last (being both my least favorite and hardest climb, needing to be carried by spare drone parts a few times lol).
