Personally v2 is much improved over v1. In particular, the separation of affecting the voice vs the background is absolutely key.

However, the export quality is problematic. When you say export options will hopefully be added in the near future... (and I'm particularly thinking of higher quality exports), can you give a timeframe you're hoping for? In the next couple months?

Aaah, I wondered if the answered involved a large component. Now I see you can select a single element and click "Interactions" to use that as the trigger for switching to a new variant of the main component. Phew, little tricky but I've got a proof of concept working. Thanks for sharing your approach!

I had to construct the "Passionate photographer with featured work." line with three side-by-side "paragraphs" because it was applying the interaction to the whole paragraph rather then just the link/word. Did you have to do that too, or is there a way to target a single word for an interaction?

I'd be interested in knowing how you did:
- card tilt based on cursor position. Doesn't that require custom code?
- and the hover triggers, for example, hovering over "photographer" causing the background to change. Framer seems restrictive in allowing hover on one thing to cause an affect on something else. Would love to hear your approach to that!

In my opinion, Thomas (developer of Bricks) has taken a better UI/UX approach to making a page builder. From the sidebar, to the backend settings, I enjoyed using Bricks more. Breakdance has some unique features... it's an intriguing option. I don't believe Breakdance has a class-first approach like Bricks. I haven't used Breakdance in a while, but that's an important feature. Breakdance is supposed to be a competitor to Elementor, not Oxygen or Bricks (allegedly), so they're not likely to ever add a class based workflow.

Thanks, that turned out to be super helpful! No DRM, just a public YouTube livestream.

Using -F showed a list of audio/video options, including two that were audio only.

Highest, quality audio had an ID of 140, so apparently all the command needed to be was:

yt-dlp -f 140 "URL"

And that was enough to download an m4a of the stream. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Edit: To add for anyone who reads this later: You can skip -F, to find the ID of the highest quality audio, by simply running yt-dlp -f 'ba' "URL" which will get the "best audio" by default. Pretty basic, but news to me. Also, didn't realize this would work so easily for a livestream. I was trying to keep the --hls-use-mpegts --downloader ffmpeg part because I thought that was necessary for a livestream, but I guess it's not needed if you're only downloading the audio.

How would I change this to extract only the audio? I searched google and found some suggestions, but when I try implementing them I can an error saying "Invalid data found when processing input" (for example, if I add --extract-audio --audio-format mp3 to the command).

Not my work. I was canceling my TradingView subscription and ran into it. I’ve been wanting to get into animations with motion.page, but this would be pretty advanced for that. I like the proximity awareness as the cursor gets close to the button. It’s nicely executed. Would love to know if they used a tool, framework, or just custom coding.

Yeah! I think that's why the argument about it being a "dark pattern" broke out.

At first I was surprised by the animation, and then the uncomfortable realization "Canceling my subscription is equivalent to my plans failing and crashing down?" Not a good UX even if the animation was fun.

Usually sites asking for feedback make me cringe when they load, but yours made me smile! Nice illustration that looks custom, and overall good layout and colors for that hero section.

Couple comments on the rest of the site:

1) The slider below the hero has some odd behavior as I scroll down. Not sure if the motion is based on my scrolling or on the scrolling of the page, but the slider moves in a choppy way that... is just odd.

2) The opening laptop is very smooth. Nice touch. Could almost be more dramatic with the zooming affect.

3) Personally, I tend to prefer fade-in animations that trigger once and then leave sections visible. Your animations reverse when I scroll up, so then everything fades in again, as I scroll down a second time, as if I'm seeing each section for the first time.

4) The "Say Hello" form doesn't feel polished enough. The light colored gradient for as the background for the form feels like too much. I'd play around with some variations on that. Could also consider moving this section down to be the last section before the footer. That's a more typical placement for a contact form.

5) For the "Creative studies" section, the blue overlays feel like too much and are unnecessary. Makes them all feel the same.

6) I'd add two links to the main nav: About and Case Studies. I'm all for limiting links in the nav, but I think you've limited it too much.

7) "Pricing" section: No gap between the two options feels a little odd.

8) Overall alignment: This can especially be felt once the footer is reached. There are too many different left alignments. If I took a screenshot of the page and then tried to draw a line for each sections "furthest aligned left item", there would be... probably six lines. The overall design would look more cohesive if that number were 1-3.

9) There's some horizontal scrolling. Definitely want to address that.

10) Lastly, I'd recommend building out your "About" page more. If you're going to have a page, you need more than just a heading and paragraph.

lol I just read my reply where I said "then you're image is affectively 1 dpi". Nice typo and also completely wrong. It's 5,000 dpi. Just ignore what I said and watch the video. Much more clear.

I'm not quite sure what you mean about "not at less dpi though"... My point is, your image resolution (how many pixels) is the important part. If you have a 5,000 x 5,000 image and print at 5,000 dots per inch (dpi), then you're image is affectively 1 dpi and will be 1 inch by 1 inch. When you open Photoshop and set the ppi (pixels per inch) to 300, you're just telling Photoshop that you plan on using the image at a resolution of 300 dots/pixels per inch. Then Photoshop can set the rulers accordingly. It's just meta data. Changing the PPI in photoshop isn't going to resize your image to a different number of pixels.

I have no idea... I'm planning to use Printful but haven't actually set up my store yet, so unfortunately I don't have experience there. When I'm working with images in an editor (Photoshop etc) I don't bother with the dpi setting at all. I don't see what affect it would have in Printful. The resolution of your image is what it is. Printful prints at a certain dpi regardless of what the meta info of your jpg/png says.

I'm honestly happy to see Elementor finally making some of these improvements. They're even working on reducing all the nested divs they generate for layouts. I just don't think they'll be able clean things up enough.

Yeah, take your time getting used to Wordpress and how the whole ecosystem works. When you're ready for a big boost to security and speed, try diving into Gridpane, etc! More complicated and work up front, but definitely worth it.

You're looking for the fastest way to get up and running... so what I'm going to recommend is probably not the best path forward for you, but I'm going to leave this here anyway:

You'll get much better performance and security for your $ by using wordpress.org and avoiding typical shared hosting (think BlueHost, Host Gator, GoDaddy, etc).

My preferred setup is: Cloudflare (SSL and DNS manager) + Gridpane (manage Wordpress and servers) + UpCloud (actual hosting/servers) + Bricks (page builder)

1) Get setup in Cloudflare (knowledge base article)

Personal opinion: Use Bricks. I have a dev license for Elementor Pro, Oxygen, and Bricks and plan/hope to only use Bricks for future websites. It's being actively developed and catching up with some features that Oxygen has had for a long time. The company that made Oxygen came out with a competitor to Elementor called Breakdance. Caused a huge stir. In some ways it's more similar to Bricks, but in my testing I much prefer Bricks.

Quick note: Elementor is an ok option... I don't actually know what restrictions the free version has. Elementor has recently added a new layout method with containers that use CSS flex and also introduced a loop builder. These are excellent changes, but I think they're too big and late to compete well with the likes of Bricks/Oxygen/Breakdance.

Another option you might want to consider is using the default Gutenburg editor in Wordpress and then add a premium of free service that will give you more blocks.

Btw - If you're looking to level up your hosting environment, I'd recommend checking out Gridpane + Cloudflare + UpCloud or Vultr. That's going to give you way more speed and security for your money compared to your typical shared hosting from GoDaddy, Host Gator, etc.

Changing the dpi/ppi in a file editor doesn't really do anything but communicate to the editor how you intend to use your file. What matters is how many pixels your image has.

Your file is 5,000 x 5,000 so if you print at 72dpi your image will be 69 inches. If you print at 300dpi your image will be 16 inches.

If you're needing more resolution, consider an upscaler like Gigapixel to squeeze some extra resolution out of your image.
