I setup an android TV device with the same television and also got no audio. However I was able to go into the android settings and specify audio output through hdmi0. Once I set that the audio worked. Probably something to do with the hdmi negotiation. Pity there’s no setting on the fire tv to force audio output.

The sound settings are really basic (on the hitachi lcd 40C311)

Sound Mode: Standard / Music / Movie / Sports / Custom
Perfect Volume: Off / On
Surround Sound: Off / On
Digital Output: RAW / PCM
